For anyone who didn't know.

The University of Memphis's Mighty Sound of the South Pep band has been ranked number four of the top five pep bands in the US.

Edit: I just realized the date says 2015, but they just announced it at the game today? So idk.

Congratulations to everyone involved. It's hard to believe there are 3 bands that are supposedly better.
Also, as I have mentioned before, the Tigers are the originator of having a band for basketball games.

Thank you so much for posting this. Congratulations, and a well deserved honor. I personally love our prep band. Sounded great last night especially when they played "Taking Care Of Business"

Love the band! And the dude with the shades playing the cymbals gets more TV time, week in and week out, than some of the players! He's really into it!

I had forgotten that. One of the things I remember about Gene Bartow was that he wanted to have an organ at our games. 03-puke

We actually have the elements in place to do a better job but....regardless...this is pretty cool.
George Mason was picked best pep band in the country. Here is a good example.

My daughter was thinking of applying. What she wants to major in is not offered there; only post grad.
She plays clarinet, and has awsome grades and test scores. She has even watched them march.

I don't know about that, but there is plenty of stories about us being the very first pep band to play in Madison Square Garden.

Our band, especially the Pep band at hoops is awesome. I too wish it were bigger at football games but they are very good. Thank goodness they are at home basketball games or the arena would be a morgue!!!
