When Shaq has to be benched because of foul trouble, Jake is all we have to give Dedric and Nick a couple of minutes rest.

Yep unless we go micro and play Markel at a Power Guard. Which we can also do in bursts.

I'm happy for Jake right now. We get better options, we use them, but you have walk-ons to push in practice and break in case of emergency. Losing AN and KJ being hurt lessened out front court depth and Jake has stepped up and contributed.

That is good stuff.

What is the status of KJ?

Well he had a rare type of coach that got more than expected out of his players

Jake has the type of coach that couldn't get more food from an all you can eat buffet

Im not saying I dont usnderstand WHY he's getting minutes - thats how bad the situation is. Im saying, the roster shouldnt be in a situation where a walk on is having to play meanigful minutes in conference games.

So, we don't have a bench "full" of 4-stars, especially with Lawson out...if Lawson was available, I doubt McDowell would see the floor. That's why I say that I get WHY he's out there, but it still not ideal to have a team full of guards and no big men - one injury forces you to play a walk-on. This roster's construction isn't how I would've done it...but keep in mind, that's not a professional opinion.

You do realize that Austin leaving messed up the big man rotation?

He was a guard who out worked the rest of the forwards to earn a spot. Our forwards couldn't outwork a chair.
