WAPT TV in Jackson has unveiled the fact that Southern Miss will play Ole Miss on April 4 for the Governor's Cup at Trustmark Park, home of the Class AA Mississippi Braves. It will be televised, possibly by Fox Sports Net.
In addition, the two schools will play a game at Smith-Wills Stadium.

HERE'S THE OFFICIAL RELEASE FROM SOUTHERN MISS:
HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The Southern Miss Department of Athletics has announced that the baseball game with Ole Miss on April 4, 2006, at 6:30 p.m., will be played at Trustmark Park in Pearl, Miss., the home of the Mississippi Braves.
The game will be televised, giving a wide audience a chance to view two of the top teams in the nation during the past few years. Information on which outlets will broadcast the game will be released at a later time.
"I’m excited about the opportunity our players have to play in one of the premier baseball facilities in this part of the country," Southern Miss Head Baseball Coach Corky Palmer said. "It also gives our fans a chance to see two quality in-state teams play a game in such an outstanding setting. The game will be televised, which adds another positive to the event."
Southern Miss finished the 2004 season with a 41-21 overall record, the third-straight 40-win season, setting a school record for consecutive 40-win seasons. The Golden Eagles also made their third-straight NCAA Tournament appearance, also setting a record for consecutive tournament appearances, and sixth appearance overall. Southern Miss finished with a 21-9 record in Conference USA, the third-straight year that the Golden Eagles have won 20 or more league games and tied for the second place.
