I think they are too quick to discount the positive impact on attendance having the Chips in the game...it's mentioned in passing as a factor but not emphasized as that doesn't work with their narrative that it's a B10 bowl.

Yeah ... they really are discounting that and spinning "oh, we learned a lot of our lessons in our 2nd year. WE are mostly responsible for the ~50% increase in attendance."

(on a side note --- there is exactly nobody in the general public who really thinks --- oh, this is the 2nd iteration of the Quick Lane Bowl as opposed to the 19th iteration of the Motor City Bowl. But whatever, more spinning in that article).

The ACC's next-closest-to-bowl-eligibility teams were Virginia and Syracuse. So, the Quick Lane Bowl could have had Syracuse vs. Minnesota. Yeah, THAT sounds like something that would have filled seats in Detroit. 03-zzz 03-zzz 03-zzz
