Nice preview but I don't see a 12 point win happening. I think it will be another close one. What worries is me is their ability to hit the 3, something ODU doesn't do well, and their big guy underneath. Teams have gone off on us from 3 during the conference season and ODU just destroyed us on the glass last night. If Charlotte's shooters get hot we will be in trouble, especially if we're giving them a lot of second opportunities.

Great points. Charlotte as a true outside and inside game. I'd expect a lot of man from us.

I'm a little surprised because two years ago we had one of the best rebounding teams in the nation. Was it just personnel? Poor shooting?
I looked it up. We sucked at shooting percentage (298 of 345 teams) but were awesome at total rebounding (18 of 345 teams).

Both. Rucker was an elite rebounder. Faz was pretty good and Swing, Rob, and Chad were all guards the size of forwards.

A little of both. Only Mehinti, Madison and Watts are left from two years ago. In terms of rebounding, only Mehinti applies here since Madison isn't playing much and Watts is a guard.
And it was a very poor shooting team, leading to more rebounds. This team is one of the best shooting teams UAB has ever had. There are not as many rebound to be had. It's also hard to reboudn when you are blocking the shot.
Great minds think alike.

Perhaps the second half last night was a bit of an abberation. Once the fouls started to pile up our agressiveness on defense started to wane. We're not a good rebounding team but last night's second half was exceptionally poor.

I hope our coaches are stressing blocking out right now. It's a basketball fundamental.

Bingo. Great observation.
