Quigley Down Under was another good one. I think he did condescending/sarcasm better than pretty much anyone.

First Bowie and now Rickman. Bad time to be a 69 year old Englishman I guess. Time to find a way to kill Cancer off once and for all.

It's still amazing to think his first ever movie role, he got to play the villain against ultimate tough-guy/good guy Bruce Willis. That says a lot about people's confidence in your acting abilities.

The only way to cure cancer is to make it unprofitable to treat cancer.

Just means as long as they make so much off of cancer treatments I don't think they're putting as much effort into eradicating it. Same with diabetes and other chronic diseases. Cynical, I know. But the bottom line dictates the direction in medicine same as anywhere else.

so it's okay to get a pass on being sober, cynical, and a 'scratch head' when you post....gotcha....

not certain what residence you are enjoying in that medicine R&D knowledge base of yours....well, I guess I do now....

I get what your attempting to state (the bottom line drives motives).....however, there is a reason it's called "practicing medicine" and the advancements that are being made annually overwhelm the premise of "collusion".....

'treatment' and R&D don't walk hand-in-hand unless one is referencing the pharmaceuticals....that's another animal....

the treatment for diabetes, cancer, heart/valve issues, etc.....have improved dramatically in just the last decade due to independent R&D

I understood your meaning. "Cynical" isn't the word that springs to mind.
