Cincinnati & Michigan will play a home & home series starting 12/17/16 in Cincinnati, sources told @CBSSports. Return game in AA in 2017.

Great news! Definitely need to get the one in Cincy as a W and hopefully can steal the one in AA as well. Probably would kill the series if we swept them but it would feel great

I'm fairly certain this was an agreed upon stipulation of the one-off football game we scheduled for 2017 in the Big House that was announced some time in 2014. Glad it is finally confirmed though!

For those of us old enough to remember Denny Crum @ Louisville, he built championship teams there by scheduling great out of conference games in December, before having to go through often weak conference opponents.
A great move by UC to beef up the schedule this way: compelling for national TV and a full 5th/3rd. While they didn't get the victories this season against the ranked opponents, it may still pay off in preparation for a late season run in the AAC.

Yeah we finally have dates attached to it now. 12/17/16 is a Saturday . Sure sellout at 5/3rd. Good thing its not at The Gardens as may have been the case.

Next year's home schedule has Michigan and Xavier. Road game at Butler and Iowa State. Tournament that includes Rhode Island, Penn State, and Duke. Would love to include one or two more solid non-conference games against an upper level or mid-level A-10, Mountain West, Big East type school.
Was wondering if UC was hoping to host Michigan in the renovated arena or if Michigan was holding to out at US Bank or something like that. Xavier and Michigan will sell out next season. Hopefully the conference continues to give UC home and homes with UConn, Memphis, SMU, and Temple as well.

To tell you how long ago this was put in the works Whit Babcock was the one who signed this deal.
I was getting a bit concerned that Michigan was not going to live up to their end of the bargain.

At this point the conference has no choice but to keep scheduling UC, UCONN, SMU, Memphis, etc. twice. Needs as many of those games as possible for TV purposes but also for NCAA Tournament purposes.

I mean, beating Michigan in hoops is nice....but lets not pretend we are beating the Fab 5 here.

To paraphrase "I knew of Denny Crum and Mick Cronin is no Denny Crum"

Great job scheduling by everyone involved.
I know people don't love the December games because football/weather/break etc... but the gym was rocking for both Butler and Iowa St this year.

So by extension, they should bemoan this on their board as not pretending that Kenyon Martin is coming to Ann Arbor? Some find it so easy to ***** and moan.

Did we beat Michigan? Did we already somehow lose the game? Are you bitching about scheduling Michigan?

I'd settle for beating a bad Temple team at this point. Let's face it, not as if UC is rolling Kenyon, Logan or Van Exel out there either.
