RE: UAB vs ODU game thread
Congrats on the win in Norfolk this evening.

ODU (Baycote) likely would have grabbed the last rebound that led to your winning shot had #4 Caver not gotten a hand on it and knocked it down (into your guy's hands). Baycote was just inches from having it fall right into his hands before our guy knocked it away. Had he grabbed it he no doubt gets an immediate foul with 3-4 seconds left and he is the team's best foul shooter.

That's just part of the game though and the way the ball bounces sometimes. Good luck to UAB the rest of the season, or at least till we meet again. You guys have a really good team. 04-cheers

You guys also got about 5 offensive rebounds on air balls/partial blocks that led to easy layups. In a game like this you can point to about forty things that could change the game. Norton was right place right time, no doubt. It was a great game, and I hope to see many more between the two teams in the future.

Right. Receding-hairline dude got a crucial, and easy, basket on a rebound that bounced right off Mehinti's hands and into his.

Sign of a hard-fought game when those things matter.

13-23 free throws was HORRIBLE! They started out 0-5. Sheesh!

I will say this about Freeman, he had 4 steals and 0 turnovers.

In case someone is curious, the offensive rating is the estimated points produced per 100 possessions. In this game, Lee averaged 1.6 points per offensive possession. A possession is typically considered as a shot, free throw, rebound, turnover, or assist—basically whenever a player does something with the ball.

RE: UAB vs ODU game thread
Lee was definitely the game MVP last night. His point total was more than double his number of shot attempts. That is amazing efficiency. Add in 7 rebounds and four blocks, and you have your clear MVP in my mind.

Freeman is very talented, but he's a Kobe, Carmelo, or Iverson type of player. A ball stopper, a low percentage/high volume shooter (his shooting percentage was pretty bad last night), and someone who doesn't improve his teammates on offense. Lee really has a good all around game. Lost in all his other stats is that he gets 2-3 assists per game regularly.

The calculation for an individual's offensive rating is not trivial.
