AState fills out coaching staff
Darren Hiller has been named Offensive Line coach. Hiller had the OL job at Cincy for the last couple years. He spent a large portion of his career at Arkansas State working under Steve Roberts and Hugh Freeze

DeAndre Smith who lost his job as Syrcause RB coach during their head coaching change has been named RB coach here.

Trooper Taylor has been given the Assistant Head Coach Title as well.

Smith was he RB coach at NIU for Garrett Wolfe and Michael Turner and was RB coach at Illinois for Mikel Leshoure. Turner had a solid NFL Career and Leshoure was pretty good for a couple of years with the Lions.

RE: AState fills out coaching staff
We have had a coach turn down the OC job at UNC to be our OC, an OL coach leave Houston to be our OL coach and an OC from MTSU leave to be OC for us. This is significantly different than a few years back. It is also a recent development for our assistants to leave for the same positions at Big Ten and SEC programs.

We have also had several turn down positions with raises. Before accepting the OL position at Missouri, Elarbee turned down the position at Maryland. Bell also turned down the HC job at ULM before taking the OC at Maryland. Trooper Taylor has also turned down several offers for up to double his current salary.

Hillier is going to another G5 program. Did not say where but whoever it is loss both coordinators , and he will be given the title of co-offensive coordinator. Did say he would have made more at ASU than Cincinnati, and family would prefer he came to back ASU.
