Hell, have a bake sale, decrease your X club, hit up your boosters etc. if it comes to that. No deal breakers here.

Poor, and soon to be broke but happy. Don't pretend this won't hurt. The separation is only getting bigger between all of us and P5. Every dollar counts.

UAB boosters just raised $5million+ in 6 months to prop up the athletic department... all we had to do is kill our football program and bring it back to life. You should try it & laugh all the way to the bank.05-stirthepot

The last published remarks from our new commish alluded to a short term contract this time around because of the changing landscape of broadcasting. I think that would be smart. It will give us all time to build our brands and have some success to take to the market next time around. This conference's tv value dipped once before when UL, Cincy, etc. left and then went up later when espn was ditched. It can happen again.

Markets alone were not going to increase our value but as ODU, Charlotte, UTSA and others that are in those markets build up, along with the return and hopefully resurgence, of UAB in football, the conference will possibly surpass the last valuation 5 years ago. Pretty good bet that we will all still be here so if our football improves, our basketball bounces back, we could do pretty well.

I hope so. The young programs have a lot of potential

Raise tuition (only $144 instate $226 out of state)
Play 7 home football games a year (set up to do so in '16, '19, and '22)
Sell beer at games. (in progress)
Increase enrollment by 2,000 (discussed in interview this week with new president)

The State and CUSA cuts aren't really anything compared to the potential gains from the above list. But still you'd like to grab ahold of every dollar you can.
