RE: Congratulations Clemson!
Thanks original poster! I am hurting today, but still so proud of my Tigers. I thank you for your kind words and recognizing the situation. So much has to go right to even get to where we were last night, so even if we are just as good next year it is not likely we will find ourselves within 10 minutes of playing time from a national championship. I think that is the hardest part to think about. But I am extremely grateful for the hard work of the coaches and team that gave us 14 victories, including the Orange Bowl win over Oklahoma. Again, thanks and good luck to your team in the coming year.

Bama got fortunate on the onside kick recovery b/c it was a stupid call at that point in the game, only down 3.

onside kick is the dumbest thing about football. it is cheap

No... the killer was Alabama facing 3rd and 11 at their 44 and Coker dropped that dime to the Stewart kid for 38 yards, placing them in scoring position.

Clemson is championship if they had forced a 'Bama punt at that point.

Still, I'm proud of the Tigers today.

RE: Congratulations Clemson!
lol, every good team is going to make some good plays, but obviously the onside kick was the pivotal moment in the game b/c Clem was up 3. if they recover it is on the 50.

the onside kick basically means the kicking team is right on top of the return team and i don't think that is legit. i think the ball should have be kicked farther, otherwise it becomes a fumble luck type thing.

and again the clock issue, which is all anybody wold be talking about if that happened to Bama and Clemson won the game.

You should be proud of your team, the Clemson Tigers. 04-rock I will admit that in the back of my head, the dreaded "C" word was still lurking, but I tell you what, that word doesn't exist in my vocabulary anymore. That was one hell of a game. Just two elite teams going at it with some lucky brakes going Alabama's way. 04-bow

I tell you, your team should be loaded next season. I did a quick check of the names being called out by the announcers for Clemson during the game and was shocked at how many of these players were Sophomores/Juniors. Unless a lot of them decide to leave early, and given Coach Dabo's penchant for great speeches, I'm guess the majority of your team will be back to win it all next year. Hell, I wouldn't bet against them. Your team did your fans proud Clemson fans. No one can say they didn't play toe to toe with Alabama for the full game. 04-rock

RE: Congratulations Clemson!
kudos to Clemson

I've never seen an Alabama defense that worn out...they were gassed in the 4th

If Clemson has all the right people come back, I could see them on a mission to get back to the NC and win it

That onside kick was the play of the game. Sure it's like an unsuspecting bounce in beer pong, but who would have guessed mighty Alabama would have tried that? Great call.

only a good call b/c it worked out. even Saban agrees with this. otherwerise u have given a good offense the ball on the 50 with them up
3.

CLemson safety Kearse is saying the onside kick was not legit for some reason, i didn't catch why. He had a terrible game, more so than Green who did make some hustle plays, so i not sure i want to believe him.

It was gutsy & Bama needed it. Clemson had dropped an extra guy back all game & Bama took advantage of it. If that guy is there then the onside kick doesn't happen, or at least had been successful. With that guy there he could call for a fair catch & possibly gotten an interference penalty on Bama as well. Saban picked a good time to call it. Is it kinda cheap, yeah, I would rather see them line up across from each other but still a good call. You gotta give the devil his due.

Great season Clemson. Wish you an even better one next year. Dabo is a real down to earth guy & easy to root for.
