Bowl games a) count on the record, and b) define a team's season.

Let me ask you: which season was more successful for Memphis? 2014, or 2015?

While we didn't know this going into the game, the outcome might have been better if he did sit.

Lol actually the kid could do whatever he wanted. It's not like the kid would be 10 years old or anything.

Sit out all games. Don't want to get hurt.

As a potential first rounder, he probably had a couple of million $ in injury insurance from the NCAA. Now he gets that on top of what ever he gets when he gets healthy. Not exactly gloom and doom.

If Lynch were my son I would've told him to play in the bowl game but to pick up a targeting penalty and get ejected as soon as possible. Better PR with the internet crazies that way.

He's a winner and an NFL first round pick b/c he's a competitor.
Competitive people play in their teams games, for their pride, for their ego, for their teammates.

He was going to play that game regardless.
He is going to be rich regardless.

And that is awesome.

Once McShay puts you on a mock draft you should stop playing. Top 10 high schools recruits should just sit out their entire college career until they are able to get drafted.

That is an excellent question that has yet to be addressed. I say 2014.

Yep. You don't start sitting out games when you hit the Big Board. Do that, and you quickly find yourself off the Big Board.

And there are no "meaningless games" to college athletes. Just pro athletes feel that way, lol.

Besides, the competitiveness that has the guys playing in "meaningless games" is what got them on the Big Board to begin with.

I would of had no issues with Lynch sitting out the game just as I had no issue that DeAngelo sat out the Tennessee game.
