We had three Top 25 teams (two on the road) and had a chance to win all three games in the last couple of minutes. This is a talented team with a good coach that is poised to make a tournament run. We get a couple of lucky bounces and we are ranked in the Top 10 right now.

Nobody "deserves" your support but this is an exciting team to watch. Those of you that have chosen to ignore the team are missing out on a lot of fun.

Ice fishing. Nothing like watching a team ignore all concepts of a 'team' in the last couple of minutes of close games for 6 years running.

As much as I hate to admit I agree with btiger on anything, this is absolutely spot on.

We are unlucky roughly 74% of the time vs ranked teams under CJP. We need to take X's approach. lett he postive karma flow in the city..... or Josh's approach. the law of averages......have mercy on us....

Speaking of luck, Kenpom lists Memphis as having a Luck ranking of 335, which is near the bottom of division 1. According to Kenpom, this would indicate that Memphis' record is worse than it should be, based upon performance. Still, Memphis checks in at #65 overall.

How is having a ref completely blow a charge call considered young players trying to be a hero?

RE: Unlucky
I said from the first they're fun to watch. I have to admit that there actually might be a bit more talent on the team than I originally thought. That said, they just run up and down the court and do whatever they like. That's a lot of why the close games seem to slip away - and not just at the end.

I'd wager the team will finally start to gel and come together towards the end of the season, much like last year's team. I could definitely imagine a home sweep of UConn, Cincy and SMU.

It might be too late by that time to earn an at-large invitation, but they'll definitely be in consideration.

i was not referring to the uconn game, i was talking about all the loses, where memphis is leading or in the game at the 4 minute mark and is not able to finish the game.

Doesn't the bible say about 7 years of good and 7 years of famine?

It helps we actually have a point guard this year too. Ricky is the best player on the team and it shows immensely.
