<a href='http://michigan-football.com/ncaa/ncaa_1a.htm' target='_blank'>Div I-A records from 1950-present</a>
When adding up the total amount of wins and total amount of losses for each conference, you get the following (this chart can also be seen at the bottom of the linked page):

Total winning percentage by conference
SEC----.581
Big Twelve----.549
Pac Ten----.544
ACC----.543
Big Ten----.541
Big East----.526
WAC----.521
MWC----.511
MAC----.507
Sun Belt----.504
CUSA----.472

In an interesting twist, CUSA has the best postseason record of all Div I-A conferences. Given, almost all of this is due to Marshall, but credit where credit is due:

Postseason winning percentage by conference
CUSA----.566
WAC----.553
ACC----.540
Pac Ten----.537
SEC----.514
Sun Belt----.506
Big Ten----.505
Big Twelve----.485
MAC----.468
Big East----.435
MWC----.435

Let the spin begin.

Keep dwelling on the past. That's all the new big east can do!

It is even more interesting if you break it down by CUSA division.

The East has an overall winning % of 54.2576.<---Better than the Big East.

The West has an overall winning % of 41.9088

I'm thinking the west teams played a slightly higher level of competition than the eastern schools.

And slightly is a huge understatement.

Rice, SMU, and Houston all played with the big boys at one point. There's just a little bit of difference between Texas and Texas A&M an your run of the mill IAA club...

Well this is why we have a new beginning. We are going to change that statistic. Oh yea!. By 'We", I mean the conference.

You're right, playing the Miami's (of Florida), FSU, Alabama's, VT's, syracuse's of the world as an independent on a regular basis just doesn't add up. Hey, good news, your Rice gets to play my ECU this year. Good Luck!

Let's add Tennessee, and Kansas State to that list as well. Yea, the East if Least, but we didn't do too bad against Louisville, your champion last year, and god's gift to the B/E conference in bowl games, over the past 5-6 years.

Carolinaherd,

04-cheers

That terrible winning percentage for CUSA-W is perhaps the most interesting thing about the new league. No one in that group is a consistent winner but at least two are going to become consistent winners for the first time in ages. This change in status will make those schools more attractive to fans, recruits, TV, bowls, prospective coaches, corporate partners, etc..

(1) You're right, the Miamis, Floridas, and Alabamas of the world are good opponents; But there are plenty more William & Mary's, VMI's, Catawba's, and Richmond's on your schedules as well.

(2) The good thing about that Rice/ECU is someone has to win. I'm not holding my breath for an Owl victory...

So, you're basing judgement of a conference from records that date back to nearly 40 years before this conference was even formed.

Gee, good one Bull boy.

Get lost.

One thing is for sure, no team did LESS in C-USA in the 4 top sports than USF. NO TEAM.

I see the flamer Wilkie leading the cheers for you. It's amazing isn't it? YOu can flame c-usa, but go to the BE boards and you get banned.

Such is the life of the BE internet coward.

From my perspective, it is very much the opposite. I even posted this on the smack board because i knew it would end up here anyways. What more can I do?

I'd love to see you try and prove that. By the way, what would you consider the top 4 sports?

USM kicked USF's gay azz all over the place. What a two bit football program USF is. You idiots have lost twenty players this year to grades and other problems. You are USM's *****. Live with it.

The only reason there is a smack board, Wilkie, is because twerps like you need a place to make yourself feel better by putting down others. Please don't suggest that you restrict your flaming to the smack board - you do the same on the regular board, little man.
I'm glad this smack-board does exist, as you single-handedly ruined the froggie c-usa board.

This is what the teams that have left the conference accomplished. If it had not been for the great programs of USM, Memphis, etc. they did their best to uphold the conference. However, today its' not about what you did today, or yesterday, as much as what are you going to do tommorrow. I predict within three years. CUSA will be in the top 4-5 conferences in America. GO CUSA gettin' better everyday in everyway!

Carolinaherd,

04-cheers

This has got to be one of the worst posts ever. None of these conferences are the same, take out Miami, BC and VT out of the Big east and you have a joke of a conference. But we all know that.

Capital Pirate and Yune closed that board down. And everything, I ever said was right! And get ready to see Memphis and ECU exit CUSA as fast as they can leave! 04-cheers
