Congratulations On The Win Southern Miss
I couldn't help but think of that line in the Butch Cassidy And The Sundance Kid movie where one turned to the other as they were being pursued by the Bolivian Army and said, "Who are those guys?".

Your guys have had more than their share of adversity this year and if my team had to lose to anybody else then at least it was to a team that doesn't get their spirits lifted very often. If they can continue to shoot like they did tonight then they will surprise a few more teams down the road. Congratulations on the win. Since it is our only scheduled regular season meeting, you now hold control of the tie breakers with us! 04-cheers

Thanks for the kind comments. This USM team has a lot going against them, but they don't quit playing. You have to give Doc credit for keeping them playing. Best of luck the rest of the season to ODU. Your basketball program brought a lot to CUSA basketball.

Seems like there are some scrappy teams in CUSA this year. Always tough to win on the road vs scrappy teams. I am worried about our blazers going to odu this week.

It may not have been our finest performance, but your team played well and took full advantage of the opportunities we gave them.

For the sake of my fragile psyche, please do not let this be your only in-conference win!

Other than getting canned at Tennessee, did Tyndall suffer any other consequences for having almost destroyed the ULM MBB program? Was he allowed to simply cash his big checks and walk out the door?

I think Southern found a real gem in Sadler. Those kids play hard every time I see them.

Yep. Gave Bama their money's worth back when they had Ingram. NDSU is no slouch of a team either.

We want Sadler back. I still think he left our program too early. He should have stayed at least one more season. But no he took the first job offer and left town. After last years big comeback win over us I knew he would take you back to the top of the conference.

hopefully we find out when he really has a chance to recruit....

do not misinterpret my betting motives vs. my passion for southern miss

right now, I fault nobody for what is happening here but that big fat tub o goo that loves wrastlers....

it's a shame what Eustachy brought back to this town and the personalities didn't work out....then we got tyndall the snake charmer.....now Doc.....

I would have zero problem with him becoming another Turk and retire here....I wish Eustachy would have...he's similar to the way this town views 'thingys'.....idiots those are

I haven't met him, but this town relative to hoops can make a man not like his job in quick fashion (which pains me)

I personally like the T's, his strangeness, his aloof nature for those that don't understand 'humor'.....

I wish him nothing but the best along with him somehow developing a hoops program that people want to watch again.....

I miss it....the yurt is a hole in the ground....no doubting that....but in small town USA, it's a blast when it's packed and the crowd is amped....

Some of our fans simply haven't given Sadler a fair chance, and don't like him because he is an older man. He reminds them of Elllllllllllloss Johnson. Completely different situation.

Hello to two long-time friends and outstanding posters.

I didn't realize until I just looked it up that in addition to Doc, the Golden Eagles also have Tom Schuberth on the bench. He's now spent time with USM, UAB, and Memphis. I like Tom a lot; he's experienced, heady, and has been able to recruit well in the past. He did a good job of helping Larry Finch while he was here.

I noticed that it wasn't in his USM bio, but immediately after his playing days at Miss State, he was a "Washington General". I don't think that's something that he highlights on his resume. :)

Best wishes to both of you, Smaug and Stinkfist, 2 true classy fans!!

I'll be honest, I was not in favor of his hire, and his introductory press conference did remind me of Ellis' more than I care to admit. However, whenever the NCAA stuff got dropped in his lap early in his first season, it would have been easy for him and the team to mail it in. Instead, he won them over and had them playing harder at the end of the year - when they had nothing to play for - than at the beginning. That convinced me that I had been too hasty in my initial judgement of him. I look forward to seeing what he can do when he's not operating with one hand tied behind his back.

Count me on this ... I was not happy with the Sadler hire to start with.. But after the violations, I've pretty much admitting, I'm giving Doc a free pass until he has the chance to prove what he can do with no handcuffs.
