Yes. Congrats to NDSU. They have been a machine taking 5 straight titles. Something tells me it won't feel as cold tonight in Fargo. 04-cheers

Pretty impressive. One of the very few 5-peats in any NCAA team sport.

Their fan base carries signs with "Bring on Bama".

Guess Jacksonville (Alabama ) St will have to do.

It's time to move up to FBS. Sure they'd be relegated to an also-ran paycheck game but they have nothing to prove at that level.

The way they are playing, they could be as strong as Clemson and Alabama and they might beat both of them.

No existing G5 conference wants them, in spite of their fan base insisting that NDSU and Montana are locks for the MWC.

There could be extra money that could be brought in if one of the existing conferences brings them in. Shoot, ESPN could get bang for their buck by having North Dakota State to join the MAC. Having North Dakota State playing Northern Illinois in November might be a much better match up than a North Dakota State Vs Eastern Michigan.

They are boxed in by geography, though, from the point of view of any G5 conference.

North Dakota is very far north and nowhere near the west - NDSU is only a mile west of the ND-Minnesota border. The MAC makes the most sense geographically, but they're still a ways away from the Ohio-Michigan core of the MAC, and even though NDSU is 1,000 miles from Eastern Michigan, they are even farther from Boise State.

Colorado State, Wyoming and Air Force are closer. Moving NDSU in to mountain could move Boise State to the coast where they are better at with geography. Add UTEP and NDSU to Mountain and move Boise State to the west with San Deigo State and others would only give NDSU playing Boise State once every few years in football.

Going to more then 12 teams is a money loser for most g5 conferences. End of discussion

Yeah, like conferences care about geographic distance these days. I just watched a women's basketball team from Connecticut playing in Houston last night in a conference bout.

UTEP, which is in El Paso, New Mexico, Texas; is in a conference with teams that are hundreds of miles/dozens of miles/walking distance from the Atlantic Ocean.

There is no way NDSU goes to the FBS. Sorry Bizzzzon, but no conference is going to want to travel to North Dakota.

Right now, North Dakota State is bringing in better tv ratings than several G5 schools like some in the Sun Belt and the MAC. Their TV ratings match those in MWC.

NDSU is basically in Minnesota. It's Las Vegas (in distance) to Phoenix or LA to the Twin Cities.

Yeah, and there is a reason only 1 college in Minnesota currently plays FBS football.

Why do you say that? Minnesota is a large state with multiple population centers in or near it. It's not Wyoming.
