Nice Win Over Denver
The Griz win tonight (without Lee or Conley) and the Mavs defeat brings the Griz closer to the 5th seed.

RE: Nice Win Over Portland Tonight
Zbo and Allen turned back the clock tonight. Chalmers hit some BIG 3's as well at the end.

BTW - good to see Arthur back in the grindhouse and Barton as well! DA had a great moment at the end with all of his ex-teammates and him and Chalmers also had a massive hug. Ugh, 2008! :'(

03-banghead sorry.

When I see Will Barton I think of Portland.

Very embarrassed and I will fix it.

Marc looked dead on his feet to me.

Jeff Green so often seems just the slightest bit off.

They talked a lot about it on the radio yesterday, but it does look like half the team wants to play one way and half another way. I'm to the point where I think you have to go grit and grind with the starters (ZBo, Marc, Mike, Tony, and Matt) and then come up with a small ball / quicker paced game plan for the bench. Coach has to find a way to maximize his players. Right now it feels like getting offense is hard.

We're a lot better when they are.

Calkins quote:
"And the fact remains that even with their weaknesses, Allen and Randolph give the Grizzlies the best chance to win. Allen by creating mayhem. Randolph by collecting points and rebounds.

Will they be able to carry these Grizzlies to the NBA Finals?

Almost certainly not.

But they'll carry the Grizzlies farther than anyone who is available to play in their stead."

Advanced metrics tell us that the starting lineup with Zbo and TA is a freaking disaster of epic proportions. This franchise will never be able to do what needs to be done with suck ups like Cuckins and Verno shilling for TA and company.

Calkins OPINION means nothing. Allen and Randolph took us for a great ride but the days of wanting/expecting them to carry the team to anything should be over

RE: Nice Win Over Denver
I'm cool with agreeing to disagree - just putting out there what I and some others think. Everybody's opinion "means nothing," excepting maybe a few people associated with the team. And advanced metrics mean nothing if we can't field a starting lineup that can compete with the upper half of the league. I personally agree with Vernon when he says that we never gave Grit and Grind basketball a true chance this year. We began the season as a veteran team with an identity, and we abandoned that identity at the first signs of adversity in the name of making Jeff Green fit into our offense. To me, Jeff is the perfect bench player to spark the offense when ZBo and Mark aren't in - unfortunately Wright got hurt, and we don't really have many chances to sit Mark and ZBo at the same time.

The Grit and Grind lineup has already shown that they are no longer capable of competing against the top tier teams. It's time to let go and move on

Our issue hasn't been beating bad teams like Denver, it's been beating the good teams.
