It's the summer doldrums in January. Must be global warming.

Grizz nation is in turmoil as well. Coach and front office not on the same page. Best two players repeat over and over in interviews that they don't know what offense they are running. Grit N Grind dying a slow death. Struggling to stay over .500. Dark times in Hoop City.

Grizz schedule has been brutal over the 1st half of the season, but they've got a stretch of games through mid-Feb that will get them comfortably above .500... and that puts them in the playoffs in the West.

Where they will promptly lose in the first round, and we'll repeat the process all over again next season. This year's Grizz are the equivalent of a 6-6 team making a bowl game.

I'm ready for a complete overhaul of both basketball programs in the city.

Depends on the matchup...

Match up for what if they lose each game by 10 or by 45

That's a complete and utter fabrication.
Just putting it out there doesn't make it fact.
I listen to Calkins everyday.
He talks Tiger BB, at least a little everyday.
He had Jason Smith on today.
Who's the St. Louis crew?
You're a faker, a liar, and a prevaricator.

To say that Calkins doesn't attend most games is a complete lie.

There are other reasons besides less interest in basketball for lack of poster participation that are readily discerned by perceptive observers.

A few years ago before this town finally figured out Josh isn't the answer and he had the 4 Kings before the end of season blowouts occurred, both teams were drawing well and the term Hoop City was born. Our Louisville and Gonzaga crowds were as good as any Grizz crowd. This is all about people being done with Josh and not so much they love the Grizz more, if they keep losing their crowds will die too, that's most cities but definitely it is Memphis!!!

He does appear to be improving...It's an evolution not a revolution though.

I don't see it. The stuff with Shaq IMO said a lot. Plus he don't have the options that he had in previous years. He's got his 7-8 guys now. If Dedric goes pro next year is going to be interesting.

It only took him 6 years to figure out that your bigs should not have to run out to the key (or past) to set a pick and run all the way back to the basket to defend the goal. That's progress. Slow progress, but progress.

I know times are tough but I don't think it has gotten to the point where they are playing half-court games on a goal in Josh's drive way. Players typicaly set picks and defend the goal on opposite ends of the court.

Admittedly "defend the goal" was a poor choice of words

Unfortunately that's exactly what many have done. We are the few who are left to care enough to bring it up.

I'm sorry this is all you have.

Sounds spot on, to me. I guess you missed the fact that half the posts on this thread (about no one talking about Tiger basketball) aren't talking about Tiger basketball.

We played a poor opponent and it's right after the holidays, so people are buried at work likely. I just a had an (insane) client take my meeting request for two weeks from now and twist it into why wasn't I already done (b/c he never got me confirmation on a key code question and I informed him his fee didn't go for drawing it twice) and demand one Wednesday at 9a.

Sharpens the mind. Adds to stress. Makes people go away.

January is usually a mess. Busy people are getting their footing and others are getting busy after the holidays.

No hurry, no worry.

I think the U of L faithful now greatly appreciate Pitino's vocal opposition to the NBA going there as opposed to Calipari campaigning for it.
