Favorite Game You Ever Watched
Which game was your favorite as a fan to watch. It doesn't have to be the biggest game, just the one you enjoyed/remember the most.

For me, it was 2006 Ohio State/Michigan. I was a student and that was the first year I bought tickets and went with my sister and her friend. I probably will never again be to a game with that kind of atmosphere.

I still can't believe that there wasn't a rematch of that game for the national championship but they did a rematch of LSU-Alabama in 2011.

You've spent plenty of time on this board, I demand you adopt a Big Ten team to root for. 05-mafia

That 2006 Ohio State/Michigan game was great, but I'd go back a few weeks earlier to Louisville at Rutgers. I was there I was for nearly every home game during my undergrad years. Nothing else like it with the drama of that game! (Good drama!)

Yeah, that Rutgers/Louisville game was epic. That game along with the one the week before when the Cards beat WVU also on a Thursday Night helped prove to everyone that Thursday Night Football was a viable option. Shortly there after both BCS conferences and the NFL were booking games that night.

Rutgers-Ville 2006 from the student section baby. RU's comeback vs. Maryland in 2014 was great too. Watched that at a bar in Salem, MA and was wrapping up my final drink before I ventured back out when the tide turned.

I figured 2006 Rutgers/Louisville would be mentioned a few times here :)

I remember it pretty well too. That year was probably about the zenith of my college football watching.

2012, Toledo @ Eastern Michigan, is was a gloomy day and rain was in the forecast, Eastern Michigan, currently 0-5, with losses to Illinois State, Kent State, Ball State, Purdue, and a 7-6 Michigan State team, took a then 5-1 Toledo team into the 4th quarter in the pouring rain into a dramatic finish, sadly losing 52 to 47 in the last few minutes of the game.

I'm very partial to the Oklahoma vs. Boise State Fiesta Bowl. That was quite the game.

On TV, Rutgers/Lville 2006 (shocker, right?)

In person, #2 FSU @ Virginia 1995. Our seats were at the goal line where FSU was stopped on the last play, Virginia pulled off the upset!

I've got one. I was a Spartans fan when Duffy was the head coach.

My favorite Big 10 game was in 1966. Michigan State 10 Notre Dame 10 It ruined the Irish's perfect season.
My favorite SEC game was in 1972. Auburn 17 Alabama 16 Alabama was undefeated and headed they thought for another National Championship for Bear Bryant. They led at the half 16-0. Our highlight for the first half was a blocked extra point. They led 16-3 at the end of the 3rd quarter. With about 6 minutes left in the 4th quarter we blocked the first of 2 punts (both blocked by Newton and both returned for touchdowns by Langner). It was the most shocked and distraught the Bammers had ever been at that point (kick six got em too!).

This game was pretty awesome. What an amazing end. With that in mind, I'm going to go with 2001 GMAC Bowl. Marshall vs ECU. Marshall came back from a 38-8 halftime deficit to force overtime and eventually win 64-61 in double overtime. Although it wasn't quite as good (or maybe just good in a different way) was Marshall vs Akron. Where Byron Leftwich had the broken leg and his teammates carried him down the field. I LOVED that. And I just figured out I'm a closet Marshall fan...

Still better than being an eers fan somehow.

Top 15 and I'm dating myself here. Northwestern has been involved in so many nail biting, high drama games it's hard to narrow it down. Also added some NIU games as they are my 1B team.

11/4/2000 NU beating Michigan at home in a nail biter 54-51 which was instrumental in the Cats winning their most recent Big 10 Co Championship. The last team with the ball won the game and that was the Cats.

2004 had terrific games

a)9/2/04 rarely do you see a high scoring closely played game in a non conference opener but that's exactly what happened when the Cats played TCU. Lead changed hands several times, tieing at the end of regulation at 45. TCU won in OT 48-45 01-lauramac2

b) 10/2/04 Cats Beat Ohio State 33-28 in one of their few wins over the Bucks. It was a night game with an electric atmosphere.

2005 games
9/10 NU outlasting NIU 38-37 in Evanston. NIU tied the game with less than 10 seconds left and went for 2 on the last play of game. The conversion failed and the Cars hung on!

10/8, the only night home game that year, Cats outlasted Wisky 51-48, another game with no defense and last team with the ball wins.

10/13/07 the Cats pulling out an OT home win over Minnesota by 49-48.

11/15/2008 The Cars stunning Michigan in the Big House 21-14. First Cats road win in the Big House since the 95-96 glory days.

2009

11/21 Cats nosing out 33-31 Wisky to take their regular season finale and their 8th win
1/1/10 Cats put up a valiant effort in the OUtback Bowl vs Auburn but came up short in OT 35-38. A heart pounding game.

10/29/11 Cats beating Nebraska on a last play of the game TD to pull out a road win 28-25. which NU needed to become bowl eligible (6-6)

2012

9/1 Another rare nail biter in a season opening non conference game, the Cars hung on to beat Syracuse 42-41.

10/20 Nebraska beat the Cats on the final play of this game 29-28 in Evanston.

11/15/14, Jack Mitchell a walk on kicker who also played OF on the baseball team, nails 3 Field Goals including a last play of Regulation to tie the game at 40 and then the game winner in OT to beat Notre in South Bend. This was the first game played between the programs in almost 20 years. Beating ND in south Bend was sweet solace after losing at home to Michigan the previous week 9-10.

8/28/2003 NIU beating Maryland in OT in DeKalb 20-13, first NIU win over a P5 program at home

9/20/2003 NIU beating Alabama 19-16, a real nail biting back and forth game and while this was one of the worst Alabama teams, they were ranked when the game was played and given their success since then it was a heck of a win.

The series that NIU has had with Iowa, as the recent games have been very closely contested NIU winning 30-27 on 8/31/13 the year the Huskies went to the Orange Bowl, On 9/1/12 Iowa beat NIU 18-17.
