I say the latter. FBS > FCS, even if it's a complete bottom feeder program like Texas St.

Also keep in mind that the TCU co-OC turned the job down today because they wouldn't pay over 500k. So this isn't a move for a lot more money.

A month ago the naysayers about everything were wishing Withers would leave because the D sucked and we lost in the playoffs. No it's a disaster that he leaves. Make up your minds.

I cant believe someone with this job history is leaving after 2 years. Such a surprise.

Good riddance. You all want to jump all over the admin, but this is just a reflection on Withers. He was going to take the first 1A job he was offered. We were always just a stepping stone. The test for the admin will be if they can come up with a good replacement. I think they will. Since they knew that EW was looking I am sure they have a short list. He wasn't sold a bill of goods. He knew exactly what this job entailed and he wanted a head coaching gig, period. He was always going to leave. That is how the game is played with a lot of coaches. It is a suitcase job. He will more than double his money and be very happy.

I know EW did a lot of good things for our program, but I never liked him as a person. He is an arrogant, condescending, jerk. I knew he was bad blood when he yanked the 2 scholarships from the kids who were guaranteed their scholarships. I guarantee you he was knee deep in the UNC classroom scandal. That is why he refused to cooperate with the investigators. If he had nothing to hide he would have cooperated.

Good luck at Texas State. Hopefully, we can hire a great coach that can also project positivity with the press and the public. You can do both.
