RE: Gary Johnson announces candidacy for President
Quote:Earlier this week, Johnson announced his resignation as Director and CEO of Cannabis Sativa, Inc, a company whose goal is to "to brand and market the highest quality, legal cannabis products available today – and to innovate the industry-leading products of tomorrow." The Johnson-penned mission statement also says the company believes "cannabis is destined to become the next gold rush and we're prepared to shape its future in a legal environment."
I have no problem with legal cannabis, but this is a single-issue campaign to promote his company and he has no delusions that he has any chance of actually winning. You are wasting your vote. Then again, your vote in SC doesn't count anyway.

Precisely. But cast for the LP, it could give them a high enough vote total to qualify for automatic ballot access. If that happens, the vote isn't wasted.

I voted for him last go round. I probably will again depending on who the republicans nominate.

The only way you "waste" your vote is to vote for the two-headed party like always. Where exactly has doing that gotten you?

ever since ron paul stepped up to the plate with no shot of winning, i thought, now here's a shot at giving all of america another take. it's not about winning, it's about the propagation of ideas on a platform that wouldn't be there otherwise. i live in ohio, where my vote matters more than most folks', and if i vote, i'll vote for him. i can live with a puppet in either hand. we have. if he's given a platform, radical ideas might seem rationale, to some. and that's what matters. small victories

I don't believe Either of the top 2 GOP candidates are part of the 2-headed monster and they actually have a chance to win. I could be wrong/fooled, but that is where I am at.

In this case, it is about enriching a private business. I actually voted for Ron Paul the last go around. Of course, he and Romney were the only 2 on my ballot.

Only way I don't vote for him is if Paul wins the GOP nom, and that isn't happening. But the question is, if the general election is Sanders vs. Trump, what percentage of the popular vote does Gary get?

How do you figure it's a single issue campaign? He has run for president before and marijuana has been a big issue for him but hardly the only one. I agree that he doesn't think he has a chance, but as others have stated I don't feel I'm wasting my vote any more than I would be voting for the two major parties.

If it's Sanders vs. Trump (highly doubtful IMO) I could see a lot of disillusioned voters go to him so maybe up around 3%. Otherwise closer to the 1% he got last time.

I see the Demoncratic Party knees trembling at this time. THEY know that Gary running as a Libertarian will definitely take quite a number of votes from them. Not so much the Reps because they aren't campaigning for lax marijuana laws, the Dems would, it's part of their culture, the "do what makes you feel good" bunch.

sense still exists.....yeah, I am being serious.....
unfortunately, none of any of this shite matters....not the topic....not in sense...
E is all that matters....and it's the 'none of the above' choice
politicized logical intent always turns into butter that isn't churned properly.....me thinks they call it many thingys.....I only hear bs rhetoric from whimsical false prophets that cry as they pine whilst playing in the false pretense of faith in intelligence of the masses.......wtfe........
the dichotomy of the psyche is unsolvable when actual numbers and instantaneous communication is introduced into the equation.....and those are only two of many...
but all of this board fodder/waiting in line whist glancing at the latest spew from the 'print' can be amusing.....
so many smart fellers that think their perfume comes from the exhaust.....
can only laugh as a cynic
