I can't understand why you'd think this was an 'awful' interview. I thought it was just fine. What were you expecting, fsquid?

I agree. It was entertaining.

Sports & Leisure Management as a Major...

Actually, he said he took Sports & Leisure Law twice...never said he failed it. Maybe he just enjoyed the class.

Playing sports and going to college is not a good mix. I always though playing sports cost the athlete at least one letter grade. There is only so much time in a day.

I have a best friend who majored in Sport and Leisure Management.

While I majored in Communication, I took a few classes with him. One of those classes was probably the hardest class I took in my four years of undergrad at Memphis (at least in the top 5 hardest classes).

That's comical. Playing sports (at least the big two) is worth at least a two grade bump up for most of these athletes. Their classes, book, teachers, tutors are set up on a platter for them.

RE: PAxton Lynch on Dan Patrick Show
I thought Paxton did a great job with the interview. Now that he's done with the season and preparing to be a 1st round NFL draft pick, I'm thinking his new agent set him up with a PR professional for media training.

He was well spoken and authentic with his responses without saying something he shouldn't (like he could have done when Dan Patrick set him up with the FAMU and Bethune Cookman conversation). He came off as likeable and competent. That's the name of the game.

Whoever said that was an awful interview has clearly never seen an awful interview.

only a communication major would think that a sport and leisure management class was difficult

Yeah, he was fine, nothing earth shattering. Dan tried to have a little fun with him, but Paxton was definitely (and wisely) being a little careful.

Must have known he could do better. When I was working on my undergrad nursing degree, my worst grade was the Freshman Wellness class. BEEN THERE!

Listening to Dan Patrick conduct an interview is a piece of art. One of my favorites was when he had Glenn Frey in studio.
