Those who still worship the man and those who are still bitter need to move on with their lives.

We are almost 7 full years removed now. Move on people. Move on.

You are right, kind of like a bitter divorce though. Folks can root against him, gotta have a few villains out there in sports land. But we do need to move on. Cal is a great motivator. Coach, not so much. Recruiter, maybe the best.

Can't the same be said for CJP??? AAC vs CUSA

Except for the fact that Calipari went to Sweet 16s with teams that didn't have overbearing talent - one at UMass for sure and the Memphis teams before Rose with no NBA players, at least none that stuck in the league.

Cal won in CUSA and kicked @$$ inthe tourney when noone though we could. CJP won in CUSA, got exposed inthe tourney and now is getting exposed in the AAC and postseason tourneys.

WOW talk about revisionist history.

Cal's team won a total of 1 NCAA game until the Laurinburg Prep class came in. First five years made it to NCAA just twice and won only ONE game. He never actually won here until he began landing the talent thanks to WWW.

Reality is Pastner not only went to MORE NCAA tournaments during his first five years. He actually won MORE tournament games than Cal in of their first five years.

Cal NEVER won CUSA until Louisville and Cincinnati left and and only won ONE game the tournament before the Laurinburg prep team arrived.

Wait first you discount Cals accomplishments saying he feasted on "bottom feeders" when he won

Then turn around and point out Pastners accomplishments against "bottom feeders"

Pastner had the highest rated, most complete recruiting class he ever had against those bottom feeders and won 2 tourney games. Hell Pastner had more talent in that second recruiting class than the Laurinburg Prep. Then he added a McDonalds All American the next 2 years and still only won 2 in the tourney.

How many of those recruits did he get before WWW became a bag man for him?

Poor attempt to switch the attention. The original comment was about CAL taking care of business winning CUSA and kicking a$$ in the post season.
All i did was compared apples to apples.

If anything it is you being guilty of doing what you accuse others of doing. With CAL being praised and CJP getting blasted for doing the same thing.

The rookie coach (75%) actually performed better than your lord and savior(67.2%) during a similar period in their history in Memphis, PRIOR to an outside bag man hand delivering talent.

Also first 5 years as head coach at major school your lord and savior (63.9%)

I've basically moved on. I sure don't wish him luck & when he loses (especially to Johnny Jones) I'll get some satisfaction from it...but I don't hate the man. I recognize what he did for the program - good & bad. The good outweighs the bad IMO.

The funny thing is that there are people who said Cal can't coach when he was here. Now they are saying that he is a great coach.

I'm not a Cal fan due to the way he left. I want him to lose every game at UK. Cal is a great motivator and recruiter. I don't think Cal is the best bench coach, but compared to what we have here now in CJP, he is John Wooden.

now that is not funny, that is sad.

Cal never won anything in CUSA until Louisville and Cincinnati left. Then he feasted on bottom feeders. Was not a year he won the title which he was not projected to win the title. Damn this revisionist history has to stop.

The class of guys Cal signed from Larenberg Prep would have beaten Louisville and Cinci. They were good enough to lead us to the Elite 8, beat a couple of ranked teams that first year after the defections...put a GOOD scare into Duke while they were doing it. So to say we only won it after teams left is a crock..because we woulda had a good year with that team no matter who was in our way.
Cal was undefeated for a good stretch against Big East teams right after the defections.

CJP made the elite 8 against those bottom feeders, I must have missed it.

You insinuated that Cals success was due to the weakening of the league, yet Pastner did less with more talent in that watered down league

And if we are comparing apples to apples shouldn't we also say Pastners winning percentage benefited from the bottom feeders and now that the bottom feeders are gone his winning percentage is suffering

Wooden bought players and cheated also. You guys would rather cheat and win big than be honest and half a decent team. Says more about you than Pastner.
