LA Tech has higher RPI, better record, and longer home streak. King of the Hill until someone knocks them off this year.

Ya'll know I tease. I agree. ODU we'll test them Thursday but I think the Bulldog's streak will live to see another day.

Until we beat ODU in something important, I am not completely sold on anything. That being said, if we do beat ODU...Its gonna be a fun season in Ruston.

Well the sun even shines on a Dawgxas some days so this might be your time.

I keed, I keed.

I'm not expecting a win on Thursday. I think our poor road play and Tech's stellar home play is going to trump the historical domination we've had over la tech athletics this week. But I believe we'll break if not cure our road woes one of these days. All it would take is a spark, Freeman or Bacote getting hot, and it could be a real good game. Smart money's on Tech though. They're playing well and are at home.

Tech has never lost a home game to a fellow CUSA school as a member of this conference

Didn't we beat OSU in BB at their place 2 seasons ago? Also, I think this is the first time ODU has been to Ruston for FB or BB too I think?

Both true. That was our last home loss coincidentally. 1-1 in basketball, 1-0 in football.

The ODU Women's basketball team played in Ruston last season and left with the 'W'. You guys should be the heavy favorites tomorrow based upon the way ODU has performed on the road for a while now along with the way Tech has performed at home for a while now. Still, the game has to be played and anything can happen. 04-cheers

Tech always has a so called what the heck game and last year it was that game. ODU came from behind and Heinicke won it in overtime. By far ODU best football win to date.

Quite a few non-power conference college basketball teams have a unique home court advantage. ODU is one of them and so is Tech. It is even priced in to the Vegas odds.
I said that last year, before ODU lost conference road games, and the ODU moderator proceeded to "eviscerated me with is data" I wonder how he would explain the 0-6 record on the road this year and undefeated at home?

Unlike football, teams travel to two different places in a week thousand miles from their home. Anyone that travels like that knows that takes a toll on the body especially playing a sport that requires someone to be optimal shape.
Fortunately for ODU this is there first game of the week. Unlike Tech last year that barely beat Charlotte in overtime late Thursday evening. Then had to turn around, fly to Norfolk and play ODU in early afternoon game on Saturday.

RE: Conference USA Basketball Power Rankings
Of ODU's 6 road losses, we only played stinky ball in three of them (Purdue: a different level of team, W&M, and Richmond). We played OK in the other three (St. Joe's, VCU, GSU), just not good enough. I think having Stith in the lineup may have been good for possibly 3 or 4 more wins. We're very thin up front even with Stith.

Feeling good about our chances on Thursday. Should be a good game. (The next five are huge for the Monarchs).

And depending on how things shake out, the 6th game (vs Marshall) could be very important as well.
