Pup Club Event
Got this in my email for this Saturday's game. Looks like a nice pup club event and we plan on attending with my kid. Because the team appears to be half way watchable, I'm planning on going to my first NIU basketball in many years.
Hey Huskie Pup Club member!
I hope you had a wonderful holiday season with your family and friends and are ready for the winter and spring NIU Athletic events!
We have many exciting events coming up this month! Our first event this week kicks off MAC play for Men’s Basketball when they take on Ohio University at the Convocation Center on Wednesday, January 6th at 7PM. Wrestling returns home for the 2nd time this season as they take on Northern Iowa on Friday, January 8th at 7PM at Victor E. Court, which is also Youth Night with appearances from myself and Mission! Wrestling also takes on in-state rival Illinois on Sunday, January 10th at 1PM, which is Cancer Awareness Day with a Kish Health Systems Cancer Education table setup. Gymnastics will have their first home meet in the Convocation Center on Saturday, January 16th at 4PM vs. UIC, and plan to wear black to BLACKOUT the Convo!
We have a very special Pup Club event planned for the Men’s and Women’s Basketball doubleheader on this Saturday, January 9th. The Women, coming off of their big win at Akron, will be playing at 5PM and the Men will be playing right after at 7PM. Both games will be against Eastern Michigan, and you can participate in the pre-game high five tunnel run out before both games by meeting at the marketing tent 10 minutes before tip-off. I will be throwing a New Year’s Party with myself and other mascots from all over the Chicagoland area during these games! As a member of the Pup Club, you are invited to enjoy pizza and cake in between games with me and all the mascots including, Skates (Chicago Wolves), Rusty (Chicago Steel), Spikes (Joliet Slammers), the Kishwaukee College Kougar, and more! We will start serving the food with 10 minutes remaining in the Women’s game up until halftime of the Men’s game. We will also have a Kids Zone with inflatables and post-game autographs from your favorite NIU basketball players! If you plan on attending this event, please RSVP to sportsmarketing@niu.edu with how many children will be in attendance so that we make sure we have enough pizza and cake for everyone!
Go Huskies!

Just noticed a typo....I believe Mens starts at 7:30 not 7pm.
Looks like a great event for families.

Correct. Or it could start later if there is a tie in the women's game.
