The only player I can think of on their roster we might want is Thad Young, and they wouldn't trade him.

The whole point of trading any of the core would be to get picks, the player we get back is of less significance.

True - if you jettisoned Zach, Tony, Green, Lee and Conley now, you should get picks mostly, maybe some youth.

And then you can throw the young guys to the wolves in the second half of the season to get them ready for next year.

If that was a plan of action - not saying that's what they should do.

But IF you're going to rebuild/retool, the time to do it is now, so all the youth you have and that you acquire can get major run THIS year to prepare for the future.

Tony and Zach have little trade value. That will change next season when they have expiring contracts. Conley has trade value but I have a feeling Gasol would not be in favor of trading him.

What it probably boils down to is trading the expiring contracts of Jeff Green, Courtney Lee and maybe Vince Carter. Green and Lee might get you a pick and maybe a serviceable shooting guard. This all requires Jordan Adams to return and be a serviceable backup 2 guard.

Well I guess you can scrap it then, he's out for the season.
