Bartow was loud today even with the students out of town. My ears were ringing when I left. Best crowd of the year. We need to keep building on that.

Great game today. MTSU gave us their their best shot in the first half and we fought back hard! That game in Murphreesboro is going to be tough.

I thought Watts played with a lot of energy this afternoon. Great game by Watts.
Lee is hitting his free throws now, and we needed them.
Brown is playing much better too.
These last two games were very nice wins.

RE: MTSU Game Thread
Again, they had a lot of poise to not panic when they were down. MT played really well in the first half, but the turnovers and poor free throw shooting did them in. It was a really great game. Pretty much everyone showed up in some fashion, and they really started to get the effort plays they missed out on the in the first half.
I kind of feared that the relatively weak OOC would get us lit up when we played one of the stronger conference teams, but I'm glad I was wrong.

I hope some of that toughness can come through on some road games as well.

RE: MTSU Game Thread
MTSU shot 67% from the field the first half, 20% the second half. UAB won the battle of the boards. Norton had 7 assists, 0 turnovers. UAB shot 42% from three point range, and almost 60% the second half. Overall, the player stats for the season, so far, look better than they have in 37 years and believe me I have read every last one of them, game and season.

Another game where we grinded out a win. I really like our team, I just wish they would start faster. MTSU gave us a good test even without Potts. That'll be a tough return game.
Also nice to see us be able to win with Cokely only scoring 4. Norton had a great game with 14 points, 7 assists, and 0 turnovers.

i generally agree with the start faster thing, but I'm not sure it applies here. its not as though we played poorly early...it was more that MTSU was on FIRE!
