Final top 10
It will be interesting to see how the AP and Coaches rank the teams at the end of the season. My guess (not my opinion of the rankings, but my guess of how the AP will do it) is:
1/2 Alabama/Clemson depending on who wins
3 Stanford
4 Ohio ST.
5 Oklahoma
6 Michigan St.
7 TCU
8 Notre Dame
9 Houston
10 Ole Miss
And then Iowa, Baylor, Michigan, FSU and UNC.

Oregon, Utah, Navy, LSU, Wisconsin, Okie St., NW, Florida, W. Kentucky all stay in. Temple is probably the only team that gets knocked out of the rankings as most of the bottom teams won. NW will drop a lot, but people will probably remember they beat Stanford. UGA probably replaces Temple. They are already #25 in the coaches poll. Tennessee will just miss unless they kick Northwestern entirely out of the top 25.

yeah I agree with your top 10.....

what will be fascinating is the 11-15 area.....

Iowa may drop with a thud. like down to 13 or 14. Like Baylor at 11. Michigan at 12. Iowa 13. UNC 14. FSU 15.

ND drops lower they got thumped and there is no denying it

MSU SHOULD drop lower as well they got completely thumped and there is no denying it "but it was Bama" but still BOTH Iowa and MSU got thumped and it is hard to ignore that

OU should drop lower as well they got thumped also and Ole Miss will be above Houston no matter where Houston is they are not going to let UH pass them with their win over OkState that was a thumping

Baylor should be ahead of Iowa and Free Seafood and UNC for sure and Baylor should be ahead of Michigan as well, but the hairball love is strong so we could see that garbage come into play as well

Are you dense? UH beat a better ranked team and was 2 spots higher and ole miss with 3 loss will pass them?

One thing to remember the CF poll doesn't exist after the title game....

AP going into this-
Houston was #14 FSU was #9.
Ole Miss was #16. Oklahoma St was #13

coaches-
Houston was #16 FSU was #8
Ole Miss was #15 Oklahoma St was #13
Ole Miss was ahead of Houston by 1 vote.

Hard to guess how much those teams drop. Depends on how much they look at W/L and how much they look at their bowl game.

My AP guess:

1/2 Alabama and Clemson - depending on the title game outcome
3. Stanford
4. Ohio State
Here's where it starts to get tough, because both Oklahoma and Michigan State were manhandled and it's uncertain how far the voters will drop them. I am assuming that they will keep both in the top 10 and not drop them too far, but the rest of the losers drop out. So...
5. Oklahoma
6. Michigan State
7. TCU
8. Ole Miss
9. Michigan
10. I considered Houston, Baylor and Iowa for this spot and concluded that Houston gets it based largely on their position in the final regular season poll and how badly Iowa was beaten. How the heck did they lose to UConn? In their last five games, they beat four ranked teams, yet lose to UConn. Ugh.

Listen moron. CFP poll doesn't exist after today. Ole miss is ahead in coaches by 1 ******* vote. Beating a higher ranked team will obviously overcome that. There is no chance ole miss passes UH in the AP poll. Your posts tell me how worthless a Texas tech degree is

I didn't say that the guess was how I would rank them or how they should be ranked. The OP asked for a guess on how the AP poll would shake out, so we already know that logic isn't a factor.

It's a shame about Ole Miss, Houston beat a team that thumped them. Heck Ole Miss had 2 other losses and neither of them were to Alabama, Florida (who overachieved) and Arkansas.

And TCU shouldn't jump UH is my opinion.

As long as Houston finishes in the Top 10.

Personally, after beating 4 ranked teams in our last 5 games plus the road win at Louisville and shellacking of Vandy, I would not rank a 10-3 team ahead of UH at 13-1. But I know some voters will.

Dude, we get it.

Texas Tech has never finished in the AP Top 10. Texas Tech has never won a BCS/NY6 (or before that New Years Day) bowl game.

This will be Houston's 6th AP Top 10. Third major bowl win.

It must hurt.

and the AAC sucked in bowl games while the SEC has done really well and the top ACC teams besides Clemson lost in bowl games as well

and if Alabama wins Ole' Miss will have been the only loss for the #1 team

the Ole' Miss schedule looks better and better as bowl season goes on while the UH schedule looks worse and worse with the only real quality win in the regular season being Navy at this point and FSU in a bowl game from the ACC where UNC and FSU lost and where Clemson could go down to a team Ole' Miss beat

so far in this thread only UH homers have UH above Ole' Miss

well TCU won't jump UH since they are already ahead in all the polls so quality prediction there

Temple and Memphis are not going to be ranked teams so it will be two ranked teams

while Ole' Miss beat 3 ranked teams in a row (teams that will actually end the season ranked) and if Alabama wins Ole' Miss will have beaten the #1 team earlier in the year......the Ole' Miss schedule is getting better and better while the UH schedule gets worse

Exactly!! I wouldn't put Ohio St. ahead of Michigan St. because of head to head and MSU's other better wins, but I think its pretty likely they do.

TCU is comfortably ahead of UH in all the polls. They wouldn't be jumping, just staying ahead.
