Glad he got a job back in coaching. Can't imagine his ESPN gig was paying much and his last year of receiving his JMU salary was 2014-2015.

Good for Mickey. The man can coach D.

Coastal going FBS made this happen, imo. Mickey wouldn't make that move for the Big South.

My thoughts exactly. They got a good one for their DC.

I hope Mickey succeeds at Coastal. The ODU games against him and JMU were fun to watch and I have no doubt that he will shape CC's defense into a solid unit. If we can get both Coastal and JMU on the schedule in the coming years, that would be great.

Can't compare a coaching job to conference realignment lol. He was coaching FBS before JMU.

Way to go Mickey!! Very happy for you. I think he can still kick ass as a DC. No press conferences and limited recruiting. Gets to go back to basics....and in a nice climate.

Good for The Mick. His natural position is DC, in my opinion. No shame in that. I consider him a defensive genius. He should be at a BCS school, but what the hey, CC is a stepping stone.

Mickey was supposedly at the majority of CCU games, even in the locker room on occasion.

Good add for Coastal. As others have stated already, he is a good DC.

It will, but one thing with MM is the rarity in which he gets blown out. If CCU's "O" will do their part, the "D" will do theirs. It will be interesting to see what other connections he brings to the program. I'm sure his wife is looking forward to the area as its a nice place to retire.

I'm happy for the mickster. I wish he'd go coach NC State's defense.
