Edit: And also that Louisville game (I think) where Geron got an early T and then that ref didn't give us a call the entire rest of the game.
This game the refs were just incompetent. Bad calls both ways, and in droves

You can take it to the bank. If Pastner is removed none of the current staff will remain and that means the Lawsons are gone. Damond will NOT accept the HC position and Keelon will not settle for current position on next staff.
link?
Why would lawson leave when he can keep his paycheck and not cost 2 of his sons a year of eligibility. I would wager that the Lawson family were Memphis fans before they'd ever heard of Josh Pastner and will be long after he's gone.
They are from MEMPHIS!!!! Not Pastnerville.

I disagree about refs being incompetent. The game started off with a shove between Goodwin and one of their big guys where things could have gotten out of control. Refs started calling it tight and kept it that way. Problem was neither team adjusted. Silly reach-ins, bumping people at mid court etc kept compounding the fouls. It was crazy how both teams kept doing the same thing over and over. Of course it didn't help that players on either team couldn't move their feet well on defense. For some reason, once their 2 big guys had 4 fouls (before any of our guys did btw), we rarely drove to the basket until the last 2 mins. They went zone around the 8 min mark and we stopped playing a proper zone offense. Passing around the perimeter, jacking up shots, etc meant we weren't able to draw fouls whereas SC kept driving.

Why bother engaging this goon, he just claimed Damond (whoever that is) would not accept the head coaching job if Pastner was fired... Ya, that sounds reasonable, Damon(d) is so attached to Pastner that he would rather take another assistant job instead of the Memphis head coaching position. Now, I am not saying that Damon would or should be offered the job if Pastner was gone but he would take the offer in a heart beat...

First of all, a historically top 20 program (per ESPN rankings) should NOT hire unproven assistants. (Pastner good example)
Secondly, we can get a good head coach to come here (contrary to most opinions on this forum).
Lastly, if Bowen and power that be make that decision to offer, I think Damon would and should take it in a heartbeat. I hope they don't.

Contrary to most opinions on the board? Name the last good catch we hired not named Calipari? And even then let's think on the shape Cal was in when we hired him.

So get tossed? HE ARGUED. People saying he kept quiet are full of it. Even players on the bench were trying to keep him calm on occasion. The fouls were absurd on both sides.
Thank you. People see what they want to see - forget the truth (see 80sTiger).
Your observations were correct.

The guy can't win.....had he gone crazy and gotten thrown out of the game...his critics would have said how stupid it was to get thrown out.
Spot on Dallas.

Here is something to think about. How many former Pastner players come back to see any of Pastners teams play?

I was gonna add my two cents, but you pretty much took the words right out of my mouth. Game got chippy early, refs lost control quick, realized it and started calling game way too tight, and neither coach took advantage by instructing his team to play accordingly.
Maybe I'm just old and have seen stuff over and over so many times that I think everyone should be able to see it the same way, but it's like when a ref calls a tech -- what should you do just after that if you're dribbling the ball and your defender is closely guarding you? It's a no brainer! Drive it straight to the basket! The ref WILL CALL A FOUL! 100% of the time. No question about it. Why is that so hard to see? When refs are trying to send a message, GET THE FREAKIN' MESSAGE!
If a game gets out of control and the refs start calling it close, STOP FOULING! They're gonna call every one -- and some that aren't even there. Let the other team foul out, don't do it yourself. Ugh!

RE: Pastner Says We Should Contact Bowen
Shaq started the escalation with his rough play early...If that play doesn't happen the game is likely called normally.
Then we got into it with the player when he went into our bench...
The refs saw us as the instigators and we were treated as such, not saying it was fair, but we did it to ourselves.

Attended the Tulane game and sat a few rows away from Will Coleman. I don't think he was introduced, but I might've missed it.

As much moaning and whining that goes on here the buyout should be easy. I'm sure the good posters who can't help themselves complaining all the time would be glad to pony up and surely would be willing to put their money where their mouth is. Who's putting up the first 100 grand as a token? Raise your hand so everyone can applaud and chip-in their 100 grand or mil. Shouldn't take more than 10 to 20 and there's easily that many whiners.
