You're comparing Patterson's accomplishments (or at least his teams' accomplishments) with that of Carey?

This isn't over one game. Our head coach is 1-6 in the postseason. That is simply unacceptable. We can make all the excuses in the world in why we keep looking and playing terrible in the postseason. At some point the excuses become old.

SBNation did an analysis showing the NIU/Boise game was the biggest blowout of the modern era since 2000. Boise is a mediocre at best team, no way that game should have been more than a 3 score differential, let alone setting a low yardage milestone. That game was embarrassing for the athletic program, plain and simple.

He's 1-6 in the postseason with one of those games being played against the team who literally had the most NFL players drafted in history and 2 others being quarterback by Tommy Feidler and hobbled Ryan Graham.

You call those excuses? Or are you just refusing the face reality that NIU isn't going to win every game they play no matter the circumstances?

He had Jordan Lynch for two other postseason games, a MACC blowout loss and a Utah State opponent we scored 14 points against. He had Drew Hare last year postseason and we had the doors blown off us against Marshall.

The excuses are getting old. You should NEVER have 33 yards of offense in a football game. I don't care if you're playing the #1 defense in the country and you're playing your kicker at QB. Its unacceptable.

And again, continuing to reference bowl records when 5-7 teams went 3-0 in them this year is also dumb.

Jerry Kill never won a postseason game as an FBS coach. He went, count em, 0-6 in them. Went 0-5 in those all important bowl games.

Guess he couldn't coach either.

Did Kill get blown out in most of his postseason games?

Jerry Kill lost a MACC game by 5 points, Independence by 7, and Toronto by 24. Average loss by 12 points.

Carey lost Orange Bowl by 21, MACC #1 by 20, Poinsettia #1 by 7, Boca by 29, MACC #2 by 20, and Poinsettia #2 by 48. Only one loss by less than 20 points. Average loss by 24 points. Yikes!

I'm really not on either side of the comparison, they both sucked in the post season. At least Carey got us 1 championship though.
