No Huddle Offense
ASU will be shown in a late night bowl game tonight. Perhaps we will see the future UM offense.

I am definitely interested in that game.
Anyone have good insight on Ariz St offense? I am hoping there is some similarity to our O system which well help with transition.

Midline option run game out of the shotgun sets up middle to long range passing game. Similar to what Fuente does except Fuente ran the speed or jet sweep and the speed option.

It may have been similar in theory, but most of the time it was more exciting to watch than ours and BAM!!!....unpredictably explosive.

I suppose the thing I like most about the "no huddle" is the chaos it may create in the opposition's substitutions.

02-13-banana That's the ticket. Defensive players scurrying all over the field. PAC12 was pretty good at handling it but I dunno how good our opponents will be.

It's one thing to watch and prepare for and another not to fall behind when hit with it, play after play... after play.....

We are gonna look so different, if he can recruit players that can do it effectively.

Key for us (based on returning depth) will be to have 2 TEs that can block and catch at a high level. I believe we have enough quality depth at all other positions assuming 1 of our new QBs can execute the scheme.

Our offense the last 5 games bore no resemblance to the offense we ran the previous 15 games. Norvell's offense should play at an even faster tempo.

Yeah I've observed what others above have posted. They throw to the outside, but I've probably seen more shots downfield in a quarter and a half of play than us in our last 5 games. Their QB doesn't waste a lot of time letting the ball fly.

RE: No Huddle Offense
The new offensive system is along the lines of Auburn, Clemson, Ole Miss, SMU etc. Ideally a quarterback with mobility is desired but it can be tailored to the existing personnel.

At ASU the past two seasons they were more pass heavy with Mike Bercovici at quarterback. The previous two seasons with Taylor Kelly at quarterback they were more balanced.

Coach Norvell in an interview mentioned that the Memphis staff came to visit them at Arizona State and that the transition to the new offense should be smooth.

I did watch some of that game out of curiosity but I was footballed out by the end of the TCU/Oregon game.

o lordy...that game didn't go over well here amongst O fans. But on the bright side, we might have a new term: quacked it. The Ducks quacked it.
