Its not something to worry about I think, things are slow sportswise. I was more interested in the comments about Pitt. I realize there is no love lost between Pitt and UWVA, but some interesting thoughts about the Pittsburgh area in general etc

I think everyone will be glad when this mess (realinment etc) is finished, if ever. Still, it is something to play around with during the off season. Salty Dawg et al can just ignore if they so choose.
Ignore is an option. But this isn't a CUSA related thread so you probably should have posted it on the Smack Board.

Yes CUSA posters have an option to ignore a thread but they still shouldn't have to come onto this board and see threads related to the BE, MAC, WAC or any other conference.

Go CUSA!

with all the expansions and school grabbings that just accured and may happen again pending the BE, Big10, and Pac10... would the NCAA allow a 10 team conf championship game to slow or staop things completely? thier rule is for 12 which for the most part led to Acc grabbing BC and VT

Killing the BE would suddenly put the BCS in the minority on the Division 1 football council. Don't you think the bridesmaids they left behind would gladly vote with CUSA, Army, Navy, MWC, WAC, MAC and SBC to have a playoff with conference champions required to participate and the BCS bowl games become irrelevancies. If the ACC did that move, it would kill the BCS which is not what the ACC would ever do.

The Big Televen might...expand by one...and we all know the only school they want is Notre Dame. They're in no rush to add one school just because. The 12th spot is reserved for Notre Dame.  Missouri has been mentioned before....they fit the Big Ten's profile: Midwestern....good academics...good fan support....the state's flagship university...but still...the Big Ten is not too high on Mizzou. The Big XII? Nope and no...they won't kick Baylor...not even for Arkansas.  The Pac-10? Not even in the BE fans wildest dreams. So the Big Five BCS conferences are done in expansion. The Big East schools have NOWHERE to go. The only thing they have to do is to stay together and wait for the next realigment process. Just my 2 cents.
Nice post. Worth a lot more than 2 cents. 03-wink

Taking the Big East out of the equation... the only BCS conference that has any particular need to expand is the Big Ten, since 11 is a weird number. Everyone else is fine. I really don't think the numbers would add up going to 14 members - 12 is probably the most profitable number for those conferences.

As for kicking out a member and replacing them, starting a chain reaction... not gonna happen. Like the Big XII kicking Baylor to the curb. What incentive do they have, really? Like it or not, SOMEBODY has to finish in last place in the conference. Replacing Baylor with Arkansas ratchets up the competition... and somebody else gets squeezed, probably Tech or Ok State. And I doubt Stoops or Mack Brown or anyone else in the Big XII South want to trade the Bears for the Hogs. So I don't think there'd ever be the votes to do something like that.
Bingo. That's why Vandy will never leave the SEC. The rest of the East and ESPECIALLY Ole Miss will do whatever they can to keep them around. Vandy is the only reason Ole Miss can still pretend to be a major college power.
