RE: Big Boy FB Leagues 2020
Unfortunately the bigger schools want less not more. The best scenario I can see is the big 12 is dissolved with pac taking four, big taking 2 and the acc taking 1. However politics will take place behind closed doors.

give him some credit he didnt have any d3 or d2 in his leagues..
Only 1 school, and that was a former Border Conference and MVC school of West Texas A&M. They are a D1 school in D2 right now.
When you look at Major university Vs small universities, West Texas A&M is a major institute because of their name and history in major college sports at D1 level.I think people forget that schools like P5 schools are major, but they are not the only ones, nor they are big schools.

Give me your best bet at your dream 64-80 teams to play Big Time FB in the year 2020. Assume conference champions can be decided among leagues as small as 8. Look at branding, history, demographics, geography, overall sports departments, TV, school ratings...Remember you are the King and can make any thing happen...You own ESPN/FOX/CBS and the NCAA.
You can assume that up to 8-10 extra conferences will come along for other sports championships...but if they play FB it will be a best of G5/1AA type division for FB.
I'm going with 8 leagues of 10...keep it symmetrical...my first draft

Finally where is Notre Dame...well I chose for them to remain Indy as they love it so much...so they are playing with themselves.
The inclusion of North Dakota State makes this list invalid. There are quite a few schools with long traditions that should be on this list before NDSU, Old Dominion, Charlotte, Western Kentucky and others.

Apparently reading is not taught at the Starfleet Academy...those schools were listed as options.

RE: Big Boy FB Leagues 2020
I debated whether to put the military academies in the leagues...but I think having them play down would create some buzz for the lower league and give Army a chance to compete....thoughts? If I add all three who do I remove?

If the P5 break away? They could go to 4 conferences of 24 to 32?
24 X 4 = 96
32 X 4 = 128
Either way? You could get schools in that the P5 schools don't want little brothers get left behind like Northern Iowa, Missouri State, Northern Arizona, Cal-Davis, Cal-Poly and so forth. You could get schools that are in major tv markets like Portland State, Stony Brook and some others.
