The women travel to Akron for a game Wednesday, looking for their first road win after an impressive victory over Ball State at home Saturday.
The Flashes have been playing some of the better basketball in the conference over their last five games; over their last four, they actually lead the MAC in scoring defense.
If they continue to play well, they actually might have a long-shot chance at hosting a MAC tournament first round game. (Burden, the contributor to this bulletin board, first pointed that out in a comment on the blog.)
Akron is 6-6 in the MAC, 12-11 overall. No other team in the East is better than 4-8, and all remaining six games of the season are between division teams. If Kent could win four of those, they might be in contention for the tournament home game.
Of course, four games would be twice as many conference games as they've won so far. They're 2-10, 5-17.
So we'll start to see at Akron just how improved they are.
