RE: Bowl viewership rundown...
The downward trends continue, unsurprisingly, IMO. Outside of the NY6 and playoff semifinals, I think I watched parts of around 5 bowls this year. I just don't care enough about a bunch of random matchups between unranked teams / teams outside my region to even care.

I watched 0 full bowl games this year. In total, I watched maybe 2 hours worth of bowl action.

I watched all the CUSA bowl games and tuned in sporadically to many of the other G5 games. Other than TCU/Oregon and the Sugar Bowl I didnt watch any of the P5 bowls. I just don't care about them.

I kept an eye on the CUSA games, and watched part of the Boca Bowl to see how the stadium looked on TV.

I certainly dont watch the whole games but do keep an eye on the scores.

RE: Bowl viewership rundown...
I think people whining and moaning about bowls is ridiculous and just something for the to complain about. At the beginning of the season people will watch anything. MACtion on a Tuesday night some random 1-AA vs San Jose State, Alabama vs MTSU ETC ETC ETC... Yet at the end of the season when it's the best teams out of 126 schools playing in bowl games people will cry until rivers are filled.

I think most of the games sucked this year but that's football. Hell thats sports in general. You never know what will happen and it just played out that way in many of the games this year. I don't agree with 5-7 schools playing and I've always been against 6-6 schools but when it comes down to t the chance to enjoy a few more or 40 or 50 More football games isnt something I'm going to complain about.

The Sun Bowl on CBS was up 31% and had the highest tv ratings the weekend of the 26th/27th.

RE: Bowl viewership rundown...
These bowl games use to ALL be on MAJOR networks... now most are on major cable channels - that immediately drops their availability by 20% even on ESPN...

Then that there is 3 weeks of bowl games, with an over saturated market playing games when the average person is either working or busy with the holidays (Christmas Eve, New Year's Eve), weekday games at noon, 1:30, 2:30, and 4:30 on non holiday days... and it all spells ratings disaster - it's been a growing problem, that compounded with the days of the week the holidays fell this year.

You lost me on that one. Fraternity life?

You don't agree with what? The beginning is a fact. Everyone watches everything at the beginning of the year yet at the end when it's the better of college football "everyone" wants to complain yet it's more for all to enjoy.

This was the worst bowl season I can ever remember. I've never seen so many bad football games. Even most of the New Year's Day games and the playoff semi-finals sucked. Real bad.

Horrible bowl games. Only 4-5 close games that were actually fun to watch.
