Exactly right. With more history since his departure, you have a program where over the last 18 years, UofL was bowl ineligible all 3 seasons he was coach while the school has made a bowl ALL 15 seasons when he is not the coach, dating back to 1998.

And he wasn't left with a bare cupboard. He took over a program that had just won the Orange Bowl.
