Mr. Lynch Cost Himself Some Money Today
That performance will give many NFL team a bit of pause when determining a signing bonus offer. He'll still go very high (and should), but it just got cheaper to sign him.

There was something going on - worst QB performance since that 5th year Senior Miami QB tanked it against against Alabama in the Sugar Bowl about 10-12 years ago ...

Maybe so he won't get picked early by a bad team?

I doubt it. They see he never was able to have a clean pocket, never had time to throw downfield, his receivers had little if any separation from the defenders, had no running game and had many dropped passes.

Yep.

Lynch is one of the very few reasons this team was 9-3 to begin with.

He was sure fun to watch for 2/3rds of the season.

Would have had a running game had someone called for running plays - each time we did it was successful enough to not abandon it for three straight throws ... Just saying.

And the game was coached by our running backs coach!

I sure hope Henderson stays but I wouldn't blame him if he transferred, been under-utilized all season and got maybe 3 carries today. He is the best rb on the team. He and Dorceus are very similar but Henderson seems to run a little harder, like he plays with a chip on his shoulder.

This game cost him little. There is enough tape on him for people to look at. Combine and pro day will move the needle.

I'd be concerned if I were a GM. Lynch looked lost without Fuente.

They have a slotting system now. Whatever number he's picked at, the value of contract is set.

With a wet field I thought they would have established the run then go play action & misdirection. Like you said the run was working when we tried it.

This game didn't mean anything to his ranking. The camps testing his footwork and arm position, strength of throws on out patterns will determine his banking account size. Plus professional analysts are smart enough to look at film and an entire season when making that decision.

Fwiw...that was 23 years ago.

Unfortunately this was quite true. One nice adjustment but otherwise the receivers and line did not help.

With that, they did not help, but ?ynch still had a ghastly game.

NFL scouts are too smart to over emphasize one game. However, if they were on the fence in terms of drafting him highly, then maybe it makes a difference.

Paxton looked really bad today and hasn't looked great the past two or three games. I think the Xmas break hurt as well as JF leaving. I hope our little run isn't over?

I heard Steve Young say the other day... in college, everybody's open and in the pro's, no one is. This was a pretty good audition.

I guess I might advise Pax to return for his senior year to get that bad image of the Auburn game off the minds of everyone.
Fat chance though.....he is going, going, gone.

It was a good audition against superior defensive talent. However, Ole Miss also had superior talent and he looked like Aaron Rodgers that day. Agreeing with others, Lynch has looked lost ever since Fuente mentally checked out as HC.
