Why didn't he fix it sooner, may have cost UC a bid. No quality wins. What happens when SMU beats them handily Thurs. night ? This team is top 40, maybe top 50. We have lost to all teams above that ( GW is not ), beat teams below that. This will continue all year, that is who they are. That is all.

Mick will have them in the ncaa. Granted the AAC sucks but still.

Im a Mick fan but some of his post game comments after the Tulsa game bothered me. He said about he doesnt care about the W and L and he just wants the team to play well (rebound, defend, deflect etc) and sometimes you play well and lose. If you take this thought to logical conclusion he said he would rather play well and lose than win ugly. He said fans and media care about wins and lossss as they should but he doesn't. He also said he has five yrs left on his contract and so no matter what he will be back and if they ask him to leave oh well because his daughter has homework and that is more important. I think I know what henis trying to say but it still...it was all worded oddly.

He's talking about process oriented thinking and he's absolutely correct. For any individual game I'd rather they play well and lose than play badly and win because in the long run playing well is what leads to wins. Teams don't win consistently playing poorly.

Losing to Temple, who lost by 27 at home to Houston, is not acceptable. The seedings matter, hell making the
tourney could hinge on a loss like that.

I agree with this, our margin for error is very slim at this point. We need wins against SMU.

For some,,, it is a constant ***** and bashing session...

If a recruit looks at negative gibberish on this board,, none would come here...

Agree with the 3 of you. I stated in another thread this board has gotten very much like the old "Killerfrogs" CUSA board.

I've been posting since the old voy days and I've never seen so much name calling, snark and negativity.

I welcome differing views respectfully stated, constructive criticism and open discussion.

Hollywood has 1000s of unemployed comedians and writers ~ a little less of those posts would be welcome too IMHO. Look at the realignment thread, easily 2/3rds is OT.

EDIT: Wanted to add even at the height of Minter's failings (loss to New Hampshire et al) I don't remember name calling of coaches.

Mick meant what he said. His priorities are in the right place. I applaud.

Attacking other posters, players, or coaches in derogatory/personal ways should not be accepted. But I really don't understand why people want to shut down differing opinions. There is plenty of group thought on BCJ, Bearcatnews, Bearcat Talk, or any of the other boards.

The Cincinnati fan base is not unique, they are all the same. There are four levels to a fan base

1) Happy
2) Angry
3) Disinterested/apathetic
4) Vacant

Right now we are teetering between 2 and 3.

I read and post less often because threads that have NOTHING to do with football are filled with posts about how we need to fire the football coach. Just look at this thread.

Hey at least we don't have to deal with Eagle'N'Yune here!
