Well this sucks

I saw that too. I really liked Demetrius and the way he played. Does anyone know the reason why?

Just saw that defensive back Austin Jackson is transferring to Clemson. I assume to be a walk on.

That's also where Anthony is going.

Wow. We must have more talent on our squad than we realized, if players are leaving for Clemson.

Or maybe they just want free tickets to Clemson games.

Does anyone have a clue as to what went on about these two transfers? I understand that players all over the country transfer downward in order to get more playing time. It is very common but I do not have a clue what precipitated these two players transferring.

Maybe coach(es) told them they would make the team and they could use their talents. I really don't know?

Don't know anything about this situation but, Hunter Renfro, the Clemson receiver who caught 7 passes--two for touchdowns vs. Alabama was a freshman walk-on.

Jay just commented on the Don Helman show that the decision by Anthony to transfer was purely academic. Unfortunately ETSU does not have the degree program that he was needing. Jay said he is a good student who take his studies seriously and he wants to pursue the degree he needs.

That makes sense, probably wanted to go to Clemson for something engineering-related and that does make sense. If you don't have a future in the pros, you should focus on your studies in your degree first and then on sports.

Yes Jay said he wants to pursue engineering. He is a fine student and I wish him the best. I wish we could get an engineering program here at ETSU as it would really put us in a better position academically.

I agree. We need to get Noland to invest in that soon, as it would make us more visible on the academic side. Even Milligan at the moment is getting an engineering program, so I think it would be an important investment.

This joint program with TTU is coming. Dr. Noland mentioned it the last time I heard him speak.

That other discussion about winning the lottery and donating to ETSU -- I would give to start an ETSU engineering school. Maybe this joint venture with TN Tech will lead to a full program at ETSU. And, what has happened with the Dental School proposal? Of course money is the big issue, and engineering and/or dental schools are very expensive to start up.

And I believe there is always the political opposition for the other (powerful) university system in Tennessee. I can never, ever forget the attacks on our Medical School back in the day.
