RE: Texas Bowl Thread (Texas Tech v. LSU)
I think LSU dominates....Fournette will get rolling in this game.

If they win this game, then they SHOULD have had a 10-win season, which is something to be proud of as an LSU fan...

LSU fans still have 2011 in their head, and losing against Alabama has been tough to swallow, but they are still pulling in top recruits and playing well in the SEC...the West is just hard right now, and Alabama is incredibly hard to beat....

LSU is still undefeated against SEC Texas A&M. They are poised for a great year next year as well

I'm not near a TV, what's attendance like? Is there a sizable LSU contingent?

The stadium looks completely empty right now.

Oh, wait, the game starts at 8 pm local time. 07-coffee3

Channel 11 interviewed a spokesperson this morning who claimed only about 200 tickets remain unsold.

This bowl is always well supported by the City of Houston.

Also doesn't hurt that Louisiana is close by and (presumably) has tons of alums in the Houston area (as I imagine Texas Tech does as well).

Agree. But in 2006, 52,210 for Rutgers-Kansas State. 69,441 in 2009 for Navy-Missouri.

It hasn't always been though on the other hand it was given an awful time slot, especially in its previous incarnation as the Galleryfurniture.com/Houston Bowl.

Not surprising. For Tech it is an in-state game against a blue-chip SEC opponent they haven't faced since 1957. For LSU, there is always a fan interest in playing major Texas teams, and Baton Rouge is just 4 hours down the interstate from Houston.

And both schools have big Houston alumni bases.
