Birmingham Bowl - where to park?
I've seen people warn NOT to park near the stadium.

So, where's a good spot to park? Does Birmingham's transit system run shuttles from around the city?

The bowl website shows parking at Legion Field (don't know how much) and says there is a shuttle. Click on "shuttle" and "parking" under "Visitors" info.

I have parked at the stadium for UAB games and never had an issue. I plan to do it again this trip.

Found this:

Quote:Wednesday, Dec 30th Game Day Shuttle 7:30am-4:00pm
Fan Zone 8:00am-11:00am / Kickoff at 11:00am

Red Shuttle: UPTOWN/SHERATON/WESTIN to Legion Field
White Shuttle: HYATT REGENCY to Legion Field
Blue Shuttle: HILTON/MARRIOTT to Legion Field
There appears to be these three shuttles running from these three hotels. I think we will plan to park near one of them and ride in to the Alumni Pep Rally and game to avoid unknown traffic delays, etc.

Why? Is it a bad area of town? Cars broken into? I've never been there before so I need this information as well.

Are you required to show that you stayed at one of these hotels or can anybody park near the hotel and take the shuttle?

There is no mention of proof required. I would imagine this is a city supported event and that shuttles are availed to the public (for a small fare or nothing, at all).

There are shuttles available from downtown usually. May be leaving from the BJCC (Civic Center) Parking at the stadium will be in lots are in someones yard. I never had a problem with the locals parking me at their house.

By the way, their is a chance it will be difficult getting on the shuttles when they leave the stadium to return you downtown.

Good to know. I assume you've been to this bowl before. Right?

It may be a different set up, as stated on the birminghambowl.com website, than for UAB home games.
