Ohio State Buckeyes running back Ezekiel Elliott was involved in a car crash before the team left for its bowl game Arizona, Columbus police told multiple outlets.

Police told The Columbus Dispatch that Elliott hit a puddle and hydroplaned before hitting another car that was carrying two passengers. He was cited for failure to control his vehicle, driving under suspension and driving without a license following the incident.

The junior still made the trip and is expected to play against Notre Dame, a school spokesperson told Fox Sports.

The No. 7 Buckeyes and No. 8 Fighting Irish meet in the Fiesta Bowl On New Year’s Day at 1 p.m.

If it were any other player, charged like he was, would he still be playing in the New Years Day game?

To answer your question, no way a second stringer would make the trip. This is a big game for Urbie so he wil leave nothing to chance.
