Great football program.

I might be missing something, but...his only such coaching experience was at a prep school (IMG Academy)--he didn't actually coach at Maryland. Was he a former All-American at cornerback previously? Did he play a stint in the pros?

Is he a Mount Union guy?

Think about how bad our corners have been when we had experienced coaches coaching them. I'm up for something different.

Light years better. Funny how fast guys not giving a cushion can play better than slow guys starting 7 yards off the line.

I think you got that backwards. JMHO, they're being hired because they have recruiting contacts. They have relatively little coaching experience, let alone DI coaching experience.


It's now become TOO easy to be cynical. I think this one goes into the "experiment" category for which no one will be held responsible if it goes badly and for which all the participants will move on in a couple years if it goes well.

I made reference to hiring process but keep opening your pie-hole and someone is going to want to launch that boat and see if it floats. Given the two hour search process that occurred before awarding a half million dollars (more?) and the hiring paradigm, which seems to be in place by that new hire, they just might make a very good case.

1) I don't think anyone reading my post is going to get the impression I'm "upset" and you certainly don't need to redact on my account. You've too long a history of being childish to have that kind of effect on anyone here.

2) JJHUDDLE? Seriously? I've no problem with whether or not someone chooses a "private" education or even that they exist. That's their business. Never even implied it here or there or anywhere, I've even on occasion supported private schools. Besides, UT is public so your point is kind of floating in mid-air.

3) If not from me, take the hint from the others. You're not harming me but you sure seem to be trying as you do anyone on here that takes a different position from you. Are you so lonely that is the only way you can feel effective, to try and harm someone anonymously?

There are other ways to show your disagreement.

4) The hiring process conducted may very well have been "racist," but there are long discussions on exactly what that means. I wouldn't need to "insinuate" and bringing up hiring process for discussion is not "insinuation," it's adult and it's professional.
