Negative, I don't want to play Clemson or USC in football for 20 years. Nothing good could come out of it in the near future.

I wasn't really referring to CCU. I'm more so talking about teams that are evenly matched. I.e. Arkansas vs stAte, Boise vs Idaho, Pitt vs Penn St, Syracuse vs Buffalo, among others. I want to see evenly matched teams (Idaho isn't evenly matched but are the only FBS teams in state) I agree that CCU isn't there yet, it would be like FSU vs FAU. They just aren't there yet, but BYU vs Utah St would be good. Hopefully this clears it up a bit.

Boise got beat by New Mexico last year.
Idaho is 15-15 vs Boise state the last thirty meetings.

P5 vs G5 is more difficult to make happen .
Teams on the same level should try to play.
Like ECU,APP ST and Charlotte it helps attendance.

In what world are Arkansas and Ark State evenly matched? I hope you're not going by record alone considering Arkansas plays in the toughest division in all of college football.

Get back to us the next time Arkansas can actually beat the University of Louisiana at Monroe.

Lol my point was Arkansas vs stAte should be a good game. Considering how well they played Missouri last year I don't see it as a none win game.

Arkansas has all the advantages of the SEC including big money and recruiting power. BUT that doesn't mean it wouldn't be a good game. I remember when Arkansas and South Carolina weren't even in the SEC, and they are generally still not the threat of some of the more traditional SEC powers. Although they have their years.

It's not that we aren't there yet as a team, it's that our fan base isn't there yet. Win or lose it will hurt us in support. Nothing good will come from the playing them.

I don't know. I did hear that exact message about us playing the dawgs in 1992. Speaking from a fan base that is largely split between uga and Southern, I think it may be better to draw that line in the sand sooner than later. The more kids that grow up NOT bleeding that putrid shade of (red in our case).. burgundy or orange in yours, the better.
No sense imop, to spend 20 years putting off getting your alumni to make a choice. Because if you never played (or stayed FCS), they could have their two favorites but divided. You are basically going to have ZERO alums from those two big in state schools, give and buy season tickets to CCU. But we have I dare say a majority of past Alums who do so or at least go to a game or two a year for that other team and don't come to ours. It is changing.... But past Alumni may be a lost cause, at least a lot of them. The future is in the Future Alums. You MUST DRAW THAT LINE NOW! So that the next two decades of alumni do not follow that same path. If you beat them (HEY, The Citadel did!) - you will win the hearts and minds of most of your students and even convert some old alums. JMOP, but it is based on experience and I'm speaking as a former Red Coat loyalist who is now sold out to the Independence of the Mighty Blue and White. Now is the time to RISE! Not twenty years from now.

Case in point, what is up with this guy? : Ewglenn
Did he attend both schools? Maybe, I don't know.
But my guess would be no, that he is CCU Alumni that grew up a Tiger fan. Even if that is wrong, the smart money is on a lot of your Alumni who are. Don't fear losing them, if they side with the orange or burgundy - they aren't yours to lose.

If you must know I didn't attend either. I'm from SC, and grew up a Clemson fan. I had a lot of guys I played with in high school go to CCU so I started to like them. As far as where I went/go to school is the University of Louisville. It is possible to like more than one team you know. However if I had to pick it would be Clemson as my favorite team. Hope this clears it up for you.

I apologize if I offended you. That certainly wasn't my intent. Of course people can like more than one program.
Going to a school is in no way required to be a fan, sorry if that felt implied.

My point still stands however on the problem of divided alumni support. And even divided fans like yourself.
BUT especially Alumni, you are going to need them more going forward. If they don't give now, you haven't lost much if they get mad and never do. The next generation will view the others differently if you beat them, or at least create a rivalry through close games. I'm just saying to not be afraid to tick off alumni who bleed other colors. You've got to stop that bleeding some how. Playing them can be a good way, and you will pick up more surrounding fans with no school connection to.

No offense, we can still be friends lol. I agree with you on the play them now if you can. The other guy was saying to wait. I've seen a couple of times (not you) that someone can not love the school more than an alumni. My argument to that is, it may be true for the locals that went to whatever school, but there are probably 200k U of L fans that didn't go here that care more about the athletics than myself. Just like my wife, she went to South Carolina but doesn't care about the athletics at all. Sorry I went on a rant but it is possible to like more than one school as well as support more than one.

Are we really talking about a game from 4 years ago??? The year that they won 4 games? Seems legit.

They lost to Toledo this past year, so it's not like losing to a G5 was a one year thing.

I'm pretty sure the Citadel bested them to. You can call that one ancient if you want to, wasn't that long ago to me. But that ULM loss IS recent enough to still be legit. I'd schedule them ASAP if you want a chance to save face on that one. Till then, they own the razor backs. I'd make the pigs come to Monroe to, if it were up to me. They'd never come? Fine, warhawks will own them forever. If the Gators want s shot at revenge, they'll have to come to Statesboro, or pay out about 3 million..... Or that's what I'd say anyway.

I believe he was referring to that time that the Citadel beat Arkansas in the 90s or something. Not sure how I know about that but I do.

Just to warn you guys before engaging with hog fans that they are the kind of people that have matching ankle tattoos of a pig. Suffice to say, not all the marbles are there. I'm pretty sure they would try to drown a fish.

As a writer, I really don't want to have to go through the trouble of finding things to say about a 70-point win.

"It was really hot"
"The gnat bites still itch"
"The beer was cold"
"The sun dresses were still on point"
