Traffic / Roadway infrastructure
Any one here ever cuss at the 'idiots' who design our roadways / traffic signals?

Well, how many of you that like to complain have engineering degrees and are specialized in transportation?

We have too many experts and not enough drivers.

You need to just shut up and pay your taxes and drive and let the engineers do their jobs. Can you imagine how bad it would of be if YOU were designing our roadways?

Signed,

Chief Disappearing Lane Engineer.

P.S. If you think the band sucked at the last bar you drank at just shut up because if you can't play an instrument you have no right to an opinion on this subject either.

And if you have never been a councilman, mayor, commissioner, senator, governor or president, then you have no right to vote.

And if you've never been in movies, don't complain about the acting...And if never a writer, don't critique the writing you read...Not a chef? Don't complain about the food

Unless you are the City engineer and you kowtow to the City private developers and the politicians who are in their pockets. I am so glad Mr. Cameron is about to be gone from his "position" here.

In the AC business we used to have a saying. Once a year there should be an design engineer hunting season. They always design things in such a way that they believe it would never need to be repaired.

There's not much development going on in Shelby County. There are no more developers only builders who are developing land at cost for inventiory.

There isn't much going on at the west end if the state. It's never recovered from the Great Recession. Not much bribing going on these days because the project budgets / profit margins are way too tight.

Now, where did I leave my roll of Benjamins?

I hope the OP was being sarcastic because I totally disagree. It is silly to believe that someone outside an industry, etc might actually have a good thought. In fact, I think constructive feedback is what drives improvement. That is true whether feedback for an app, a phone feature, a team, or roadway construction. For sure the typical person will not see all of the facets that an engineer is working around but at the same time I don't think engineers, etc always fully comprehend the drivers/users needs. (See Windows 8.x). I fully embrace a person trying to provide constructive feedback (not personal attacks).

Please explain to me why the ramps at I-40 and I-240 on the east side of town have to be elevated. Couldn't the existing ramps be double laned at ground level? Sure would have saved a lot of money. Those elevated ones will freeze up big time in icy weather.

what should we do if we think the band was good, since we don't actually know? Just be quiet between songs?

After just experiencing the 65/20 junction in Birmingham during rush hour, I will never complain about 240 again. It took me 30 minutes to go 5 miles
