Think I've figured out the noon Saturday games
Apparently they chose that time (and are consistent throughout the season) perhaps in part for doubleheaders with the women's team.

I see four Saturday DHs. Lest I made a mistake, all of the DHs are men at noon and women at 2:30.

1/2 Men at noon vs. No. Florida women vs women vs. Buffalo at 2:30

1/16 Another DH. at men at noon and women at 2:30.

1/23 men (BSU) at noon and Toledo at 2:30

2/20 men vs. Toledo at noon and women vs. NIU.

Unless, I made a mistake, EMU men has 5 Saturday games left this season and four are doubleheaders.

Feb. 13 is the only time that the men are home on a Saturday and the women are on the road...

I've always thought DH are good for the MAC. Certainly makes it easier to stage games at one time for the arena staff, cheerleaders, pep band, etc.

We played Vermont at 11am. There are preseason and holiday tournaments with games that start before noon. NCAA tournament games start before noon. Which asks the question, what are you talking about.

2014-2015 they started to allow games to start at 11 am to meet tv demands this was for tournament games,my guess is that now they are allowing it for weekend games as long as the students meet the 20 hour perweek limit.

The Vermont game was on a Friday.

RE: Think I've figured out the noon Saturday games
Guys, my point, which got lost in the discussion, is that games on Saturday (all but one) are part of doubleheaders with the women's game.

My question was more: "Who goes first? (men or women) at noon"

I'll take a flyer at it: Since men's basketball for television (webcasting) purposes, would take priority, because of viewership, I'd assume the men would get the fixed (noon) slot.

The women's game would be 30 minutes AFTER the conclusion of the men's game and that could be anytime depending on the length of the men's game. Many men's games run longer than two hours and would cause the women's game to start late.

Normally the women's game is second in hopes that people will stay after the men's game is over. There by raising their attendance numbers and build interest. I haven't seen that this is true though.07-coffee3

I agree with you, Super.

My experience last year (and on webcasting) is that most who attend the men's game leave after it is over, but the idea is that hopefully SOME will attend both.

That said, if even a hundred or hundred and fifty stay for the women's game, that makes a difference where the attendance at a single (women's) game might only be a few hundred.

12 noon is not fan friendly it hurts potential men's attendance,2PM and then a double header with the women's team would be better

Aren't the NFL playoffs late afternoon/evening in January.

Good reason to have the Saturday games early.
