Saying a prayer, hope everyone is OK.

No deaths reported. Just three injured, toppled trees and damaged houses in southwestern Birmingham area. Nothing major, thankfully.

Could have been really bad. The tornado hit in a suburb just south of Downtown Birmingham and the funnel cloud basically went over the downtown area to include the Red Mountain/Vulcan area and the airport which had to be evacuated. We were very fortunate tonight.

RE: B'Ham hit with Tornado...
We drove through ithe storm on the way to Birmingham yesterday. It was nasty. There were two separate tornado warnings in bham yesterday, one was for legion field. Didn't see any damage anywhere, but the weather was horrid for most of the drive, especially the pink lightning.

For those of you traveling in for the bowl, you will see the tornado path cut across 78 a few days ago near holly springs. It was at least a quarter mile wide.
