You can bet there will be some firings happening next week. Tubs will talk about how we're making changes, this wasnt acceptable, etc, etc. Keep deflecting

I would have accepted that prior to the USF and SDSU debacles. Now he can't replace coaches because decent coaches won't leave to coach under a guy on the hot seat

I blame Whit Babcock for hiring a buddy over the phone without an interview or any competition.

Nepotism usually ends up so well.

Looking back on it, you're correct rath. Whit does deserve some blame. But...I don't think even Whit, or the rest of us for that matter, saw this coming at the time of the hire. Where we have fallen is directly on the impostor Coach. Or, as the Platters song The Great Pretender goes...

Oh-oh, yes I'm the great pretender
Pretending that I'm doing well
My need is such I pretend too much
I'm lonely but no one can tell

Oh-oh, yes I'm the great pretender
Adrift in a world of my own
I've played the game but to my real shame
You've left me to grieve all alone

Too real is this feeling of make-believe
Too real when I feel what my heart can't conceal

Yes I'm the great pretender
Just laughin' and gay like a clown
I seem to be what I'm not, you see
I'm wearing my heart like a crown
Pretending that you're still around

Too real is this feeling of make-believe
Too real when I feel what my heart can't conceal

Anyone want to pitch in and get the ol' ball coach a t-shirt - send it to his office?

At the time of his hiring, snagging Tuberville was a PR coup, and I dare say most of us were hyped about it. As it turns out, it was a bad move.

Would have been a peachy idea to you know, actually do some due diligence on the hire, interview the guy, and and look at other candidates....hell, other candidate (singular) would have been a nice touch.

This hiring "process" was nothing short of dereliction of duty writ large.

Whit must be laughing his ass off down in Blacksburg. He got his old buddy a well paying, low pressure job close to his buddy's wife's hometown. Meanwhile, he has a job at a real football school and he has just hired a hot young coach for his football program.

Merry *ucking Christmas Whit.

Did Nippert just fall into a sinkhole? "You dropped the bomb on me, baby. You dropped the bomb on me". Cratered.
