RE: THE STEEL DRUM BAHAMA BOWL GAME THREAD
I've been a fan of the Broncos from the day I learned there was a D-1A team in Kalamazoo sometime in the 70's. We have had a lot of headaches, heartbreaks and downright embarrassing performances under every head coach. Anytime we lose to EMU is deplorable. We have had a few wins against subpar Big Ten and ACC teams. Who can ever forget Iowa's first loss to a MAC team in a year when they one game and then lose to the Broncos again a few years later and that loss to the Broncos kept them out of a bowl game? All the wins in the 100+ year history of the football program are nice. But, there has never been a championship (not even under the two greatest coaches in school history, Doolittle and Molde) and until today NO COACH EVER had led any Broncos team to a bowl victory.

Congratulations to Middle Tennessee State University on a great season and a great game! The Blue Raiders were a worthy opponent and their fans a truly a class act. Tennesseans really get southern hospitality.

Congratulations to the seniors who were recruited by Bill Cubit. You stuck it out, went through an 1-11 season and now you leave WMU as the first class to have back to back 8 win seasons and also you are the first seniors to leave as bowl CHAMPIONS. Congratulations to all the undergrad student athletes. You were brought here for a purpose and you continue you raise your best. You don't settle. When we fans get ready to throw in the towel after a Franklin fumble, Terrell interception, a missed PAT or field goal, or a defense with more holes than a sieve, you all rowed the boat and raised your game. Well done. Congratulations Ciach Fleck and the coaching staff for coaching this team to its abilities, for bringing us a bowl win and for raising the level of expectations.

Now, get back to work. We need another never: MAC Championship!

Buttons, your such a class act. What motivates you?

01-ncaabbs I am motivated to support my University. I am also motivated to not sit back and let the haters and negative nellies spew their venom. It is behavior like this that is now considered the norm by one of our presidential candidates.
Unlike some I have no desire to be a living legend in my own mind. IT'S A GREAT DAY TO BE A BRONCO. If you can'r deal with it..TOUGH ROCKS.

I can certainly see your point. Considering how the haters and Nellie live in your mind there isn't room left for you to be a legend of any kind.

I do agree with you regarding the venom spewed by Hillary. She is deplorable. Glad we could agree on that.

Tough rocks? I have been doubled over on several occasions so I guess you are spot on again. It's always good to have a pair.

You?

04-chairshot Thanks for showing what a schlong Trump lover your are. No wonder I have no respect for you, have you been bright enough to notice how it is you who throw the bombs at bronco johnny and me. Gee we probably won't sleep well for days.
Do us both a favor and crawl back in your hole.

Buttons, you fool.

GB played for a nationally ranked Bronco team. He coached at the D1 level.

He looks at the program objectively. You'd cheer for Hitler if he could produce 6 wins.

True 'dat! Congrats to everyone who stuck out the 1-11 season during the intro-to-rowing year, but rowed thru it. Especially the older ones who got recruited by Cubit and going from 4-8 to an even worse season, but buying into the oars and rising above no-way-cant-happen (I wonder what Vegas odds would have been at the end of our 1-11 season with the youngest coach new hire, that we'd go to 2 bowls, 8Ws in each year, and winning our first bowl? Probably 25:1 odds). It shows real growth forward!

My power went out but I rowed the boat to watch the game.

Zach Terrell's post game comments told me everything I needed to know about how proud of an accomplishment yesterday's bowl victory was for those guys who stayed through the Cubit/Fleck transition. If you haven't listened to it, I suggest doing it.

He also mentioned the team prepared for the heat. The 4th quarter was the key. 21 to 7. The program has figured out that these games now really are four hour marathons with tv breaks. You can only be so fired up for so long, but the team that has the stamina and strength in the 4th quarter will do it. Wondering if they turned up the heat in the indoor facility prior to leaving? Great to see a police escort last night down Westnedge with the trophy....Hopefully someone can put something together for the public to show appreciation.

Good win, team performed well.

We obviously had superior personnel especially up front both sides.

Curious why MTSU stopped running option which was big factor in their scoring 17 in 1st Quarter.

The old cliche Speed kills was evident. Bogan, Braverman, and Davis ate them up. The most glaring difference was how successful the receivers were with yards after the catch.

Kept myself spoiler free so stayed away from all of the message boards and twitter and all that. Nice performance by the team, good to get a bowl win under our belts. Now we need a championship!
